Is Total Connect Free?

Total Connect is an interactive service developed by Honeywell. It allows an user to turn his or her system on and off remotely, get texts or emails when system events occur, and if you are signed up for the add-on services, you can even use it to view AlarmNet video cameras and remotely control Z-Wave home automation devices.

Most dealers package Total Connect as an add-on to a traditional alarm monitoring service wherein a central station monitors the sensors and calls the homeowner if there is an event. Alarm Grid has an unique offering where you can get a Total Connect account without the central monitoring. None of Total Connect's versions are free, but at $10/month, Alarm Grid's self-monitoring package comes as close to free as it gets!
