Lyric Gateway vs. Honeywell L3000
The Lyric Gateway is a wireless alarm panel and automation system. The Gateway requires monitoring and active AlarmNet 360 account to change most programming settings. The L3000 is a wireless alarm system that’s part of the LYNX line. Unlike the Gateway, the L3000 doesn’t need to be monitored to change programming settings.
The Lyric Gateway is a new panel without a digital display that’s part of the Lyric product line. The unit doesn’t have a digital display but the main controller has backlit soft touch buttons and the system has two different apps that can be used to interact with the system. On the main system there are number keys, panic and function keys and an LED indicator that makes it super easy to see what arming state the system is in. The Gateway can communicate using its integrated Ethernet jack or WIFI communicator or can be upgraded with a Verizon or AT&T cellular communicator. The Lyric Gateway is compatible with two wireless sensor lines - the SiX Sensors and the 5800 sensors.
The LYNX 3000 was one of the first all in one wireless panels Honeywell produced. The unit is fully self contained, has a bright alphanumeric display and easy to read backlit buttons. The system can interface with a regular phone line with its internal terminal block, use IP communication with a 7847i or can use cellular communication with the GSMVLP4G. The system supports up to 40 wireless devices, has 1 hardwired zone and supports up to 8 user codes. The system is compatible with all wireless 5800 devices.
