What causes radio frequency loss?
There are many possible explanations for radio frequency or RF loss for wireless security system devices. RF loss can be caused by the wireless device being out of range of the wireless receiver or alarm control panel. Radio frequency loss is also commonly caused by interference between the wireless sensor and the receiver. Any metal obstructions close to the RF device such as metal door or window frames, electronic devices, wiring or even items within the property could be possible culprits of loss of RF supervision. If you are experiencing this problem, the easiest solution is often simply relocating the wireless sensor, sometimes as little as a few inches in one direction or another. You can also try to remove any possible obstructions between the device and the wireless receiver or control panel if they are not structural or critical elements of the building. If relocation does not work, a last resort for RF loss for a Honeywell wireless security system may be to add a 5800RP wireless receiver, which will allow a stronger wireless signal closer to where you have your devices installed.
