What Is The Difference Between A GSMVLP5-4G And A 3GL?
The GSMVLP5-4G and 3GL are both Honeywell gsm cell communicators that send alarm signals to AlarmNet’s servers, which forward the signals to a central monitoring station and to Total Connect 2.0. The main difference between the two communicators is the compatibility to the Lynx Touch series panels.
The GSMVLP5-4G is compatible with the Lynx Touch L5100, L5100-SIA,L5200, L5200-CN and the L5210. The GSMVLP5-4G is not compatible with the L5000 or the L5000-SIA.
The 3GL is compatible with the Lynx Touch L5200, L5200-CN, L5210, L7000 and L7000-CN. The 3GL is not compatible with the L5000 or the L5100.
Although, Honeywell does not list the GSMVLP5-4G compatible with the L7000 panel, we found it is compatible.
The GSMVLP5-4G and 3GL cell communicators are the preferred communication path for the Lynx Touch series panels as there are no wires to run or to be cut by a burglar. Users don’t have to worry about losing internet connection or power for any reason. Both the GSMVLP5-4G and the 3GL install directly inside the Lynx Touch control panel (make sure the control panel is powered down before installing the cell communicator).
Both the GSMVLP5-4G and 3GL come with their own sim card that can only be registered by an authorized Honeywell Dealer.
The GSMVLP5-4G and 3GL allows uploading and downloading of the control panel.
The GSMVLP5-4G and 3GL allows users to connect to Total Connect 2.0 which provides remote control of the alarm, home automation and video surveillance from any computer, smartphone or ios device. Users will also receive notifications via email and or text message on any alarm signal or event.
