What is the Difference Between Total Connect Plus and Total Connect Premium?
The difference between Total Connect Plus and Total Connect Premium is the number of sensors that will provide zone fault and restore notifications to end users. Total Connect Plus can only be used with 10 sensors, while Total Connect Premium supports an unlimited number of sensors.
Total Connect 2.0 is an interactive service platform that is available for many Honeywell Security Systems. One of its main features is the ability to send the end user alerts when certain sensors are faulted and restored. The alerts can be sent via text, email and/or push notification. The user can configure how and when they will receiver these alerts from their Total Connect 2.0 account.
In order to use this feature, the customer must have the Total Connect Plus feature enabled on their account. This can only be enabled by the user's alarm monitoring provider, and it cannot be configured from the customer's end. If the user exceeds 10 sensors that they want to receive fault and restore notifications for, then they will need to have their monitoring company upgrade their account to Total Connect Premium.
From an end user's perspective, they will not receive any specific notification or alert that their TC2 account has been upgraded to Plus or Premium. However, it is important to mention that their monitoring company will pay a larger fee to Resideo (formerly Honeywell) whenever a customer is upgraded to Plus or Premium. As a result, some monitoring companies may charge a higher monitoring fee for customers who have these options enabled.
If you receive monitoring service from Alarm Grid and you want to receive sensor fault and restore notifications from Total Connect 2.0, please contact us and let us know. We will then upgrade your account accordingly. However, Alarm Grid will only upgrade TC2 accounts for end users who plan on using the feature for its intended purposes. Additionally, upgrading to Total Connect 2.0 Premium usually requires a special request, due to the increased costs involved.
Note: The information presented above is outdated. As of July 2019, you can now receive open and close alerts for up to 50 sensors by default, with no TC2 plan upgrade being required. You only need to upgrade your TC2 plan if you want to exceed this default 50 sensor limit. You must contact your alarm monitoring company if you want to upgrade your TC2 plan.
