Which Battery Packs are Compatible with the Honeywell L7000?

There are three battery packs that are compatible with the Honeywell L7000. These are the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SC, the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC and the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-SHA. They all essentially do the same thing, but each battery pack has a different maximum charge capacity.

When the power goes out, an alarm panel needs a backup battery to stay running. This is crucial for ensuring that the system successfully reports out in the event of a burglary or fire. If the system is not powered on, then no alarm can occur. A user can expect their system to automatically switch to battery power during an outage and remain powered in that manner for several hours. But the system will shut down entirely once the battery charge is depleted if plug-in transformer power is not restored.

The L7000 has three backup battery pack options available. The LYNXRCHKIT-SC has the lowest capacity, and ti can only keep the system running for up to 4 hours. The LYNXRCHKIT-HC has a medium capacity, and it can keep the system running for many more hours. Finally, the LYNXRCHKIT-SHA has a super-high capacity, and it can keep the system running for up to 24 hours. Each of these battery packs is also compatible with all the other panels in the Honeywell LYNX Touch Lineup.

When the system is running on AC power, the backup battery will be working in the background, slowly storing a charge. The system will automatically switch over to backup power the instant that the primary power source is lost. Normally, this works without any problem. But there eventually comes a time when a battery is unable to store a charge. For the LYNX Touch Batteries, this usually happens after 3 to 5 years. The battery should be replaced. The user will be able to recognize this, as a low-battery warning will appear on the screen. If this message does not clear after 24 hours of the system running on AC power, then it is probable that the battery has reached its end of life.
