Who can monitor an LTEXV-ADT?

Only ADT can monitor an LTEXV-ADT. This cellular communicator is proprietary to ADT and can only be used with their monitoring service. The communicator connects with the Verizon LTE Network. If you swap out the communicator, you can take the existing system to a new monitoring company.

The LTEXV-ADT is the ADT proprietary version of the Honeywell LTE-XV. The only difference between the LTEXV-ADT and the LTE-XV is that the LTEXV-ADT can only be used with ADT, while the LTE-XV can be used with any alarm monitoring company that is registered with AlarmNet. This includes Alarm Grid. Both the LTEXV-ADT and the LTE-XV are designed for use with the same Honeywell VISTA Security Systems.

If you have an LTEXV-ADT, then you will not be able to bring that communicator to a different alarm monitoring company. But you can retain the existing VISTA System. What you will need to do is swap out the LTEXV-ADT for a communicator that can be monitored by a different company. The most obvious choice for this is the Honeywell LTE-XV. You might also consider the Honeywell LTE-IV, which includes IP connectivity in addition to Verizon LTE service.

Once you have an LTE-XV or another compatible communicator, you can replace the existing LTEXV-ADT. To do this, you should first power down the panel. This is done by disconnecting the backup battery and unplugging the transformer. Then disconnect the LTEXV-ADT from the panel. You only need to disconnect at the LTEXV-ADT module. You should keep the wires connected to the panel terminals for use with the new communicator. You will also want to physically remove the old module from the panel. You can then mount the replacement communicator to the system and wire it using the existing wires. You will then be able to activate the VISTA Panel for monitoring service with a new monitoring company.

You might also want to consider replacing the PROM Chip for the system. This will make it easier for your new alarm monitoring company to program the system. However, the system should still work as intended if you do not replace the PROM Chip. Any ADT Safewatch PRO 3000 System with a PROM Chip 9.12 or higher can be used with Total Connect 2.0. Keep in mind that there are some potential complications around PROM upgrades.
