Why Does My 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector Chirp?
There are several reasons why the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will chirp.
The 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector runs on one 3V Lithium battery (CR123A). When a low battery is detected the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will send a low battery signal to the 2GIG alarm panel. The low battery signal will be displayed on the touchscreen of the keypad, the yellow LED on the detector will blink every 12 seconds and the sounder will chirp every 45 seconds until the battery is replaced. The chirping can be silenced for 12 hours by pressing the “hush” button on the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide detector.
Twelve hours before the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector sends a supervisory trouble signal to the 2GIG alarm panel, it senses a supervisory trouble condition. Once the trouble conditioned is sensed, the yellow LED on the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide detector will blink every 6 seconds and the sounder will chirp every 45 seconds. After 12 hours, the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will send a supervisory trouble signal to the 2GIG alarm panel.
The 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector has a lifespan of 5 years from the date of manufacturer.
When the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector has reached the end of life, the LED on the detector will blink every 23 seconds and the sounder will chirp every 45 seconds. After 12 hours the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will send a supervisory trouble signal and this will be displayed on the touchscreen. The 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will need to be replaced.
For each trouble, the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector will chirp every 45 seconds but users can distinguish which trouble the 2GIG Carbon Monoxide Detector is having by the LED blinking: every 12 seconds for low battery, every 6 seconds for a supervisory trouble and every 23 seconds for end of life.
