Will a Z-Wave Controller Connect to a Security Systems?

Certain security systems or their keypads can be be used as a controller for Z-Wave devices. These products include Honeywell's Tuxedo Touch, and the LYNX Touch L5100.

The ability of these devices to communicate with each other via a meshed framework, makes adding more than one controller to a system a feasible process. Since z-wave devices can be paired to multiple controllers, and their relationship to a security system is as a controller, it is possible to add a Z-Wave device to a security system even if that Z-Wave device already has a controller.

That said, most controllers do not speak with one another. However, they do communicate with the z-wave devices themselves. So while you can have multiple controllers on a z-wave network, the controllers themselves will not speak with one another.
