Description
The 2GIG-DW40 is a wireless door/window sensor with a push button bypass feature. It is a slim contact designed to protect your door or window from being opened when your GC2 or GC3 alarm system is armed. However what makes this product unique is that there is a hidden push button on the front of the contact that temporarily bypasses the zone. This is a perfect device for the back door of your home. When the system is armed in stay mode at night you can simply press the bypass button and let your dog outside!
When the system is armed you simply press the button until you see a solid red LED. Now you can open that door or window and will see the LED flashing. You can keep the door or window open indefinitely. Just keep in mind that once the door closes the solid LED will appear again. At this point the door is armed again and will require another button press in order to locally bypass it.
For those that are worried about the security risks of local push button bypassing the local bypass feature can be disabled in system programming. Also, 2GIG GC2 panel firmware version 1.14 or higher is needed to log the local bypasses on the system. All GC3 software is capable of logging these events. If you have Alarm.com service these events can be configured to send text, email and/or push notifications through the app.
The Honeywell Lyric alarm system now supports this sensor with the release of the MR3 firmware update!
