2GIG UPDV

The 2GIG UPDV is a firmware updater tool designed specifically for the 2GIG GC2 alarm system and the 2GIG TS1 wireless touchscreen keypad. These devices can be firmware upgraded in two ways: locally via cable or OTA (over the air) with a backend provider like Alarm.com. The OTA method will require active service with that provider and there are varying associated fees. Feel free to inquire with your monitoring provider. Unlike the GC3 that is equipped with a standard USB port, the GC2 has a proprietary port that normally requires the 2GIG UPCBL2 upgrade cable. The local cable method requires specific software on a PC running Windows and the firmware update already downloaded. A second option to the local cable method is using the UPDV firmware updater tool.

The 2GIG UPDV already has the firmware loaded onto it and fully powered by the GC2 or TS1. No batteries required. It is equipped with a 4-pin connector for earlier generation TS1 keypads. The display on the updater will show the user the current status of the update including proper physical connection to the device. Since the connection to the panel is proprietary there is another input for micro-USB that serves as an easy way to upload the newest software on the device.
