GRI M-180

The GRI M-180 is recessed magnet for use with steel doors and windows. It measures 3/4" in diameter, and it should be used with a recessed contact sensor with a matching diameter. There are white and brown options available for this recessed contact sensor. Test the sensor after installing.

When using the GRI M-180, you will want to make sure that the sensor and magnet are properly aligned. A recessed door/window contact sensor will have a metal reed switch inside. This reed switch should remain in a closed position when the door or window is closed. Opening the door or window should cause the magnet to separate from the sensor. This will release the internal reed switch and tell the sensor to alert the system.

Ideally, you should use the GRI M-180 with a recessed door and window contact that measures 3/4" in diameter. This will allow you to better align the sensor and magnet. The GRI M-180 was designed for use in steel doors and windows. You should test the sensor once the installation is complete.
