Honeywell 7940

The Honeywell 7940 is a universal surface mounted or recessed magnetic contact for doors or windows. The 7940 can be converted from a surface mount contact to a recessed contact with the addition of an included cap adaptor on one end of the contact. The 7940 is equipped with quick terminal connections where all you have to do is insert the zone wires and tighten the screws, with no stripping or soldering required.

The Honeywell 7940 is the only universal contact that has the ability to be either surface mounted or recessed. In a surface mount installation, the contact should be mounted to the door or window frame, and the magnet mounted to the door or window, with a closed gap of no more than 2”. If the recessed adaptor caps are installed and the device is recessed into the door or window frame, the maximum gap should be no more than 1”. The 7940 contact is compatible with all wired security systems and is ideal for Honeywell wired alarm control panel installations that may require either a surface or recessed mount magnetic contact.

The 7940 contact is available in two colors. The 7940WH is the standard white option, and the 7940BR is a dark brown color. The Honeywell 7940 universal contact replaces part numbers: Sentrol 1038T, Amseco AMS51, and Tane-50.
