Honeywell GSM3DBKT
AlarmNet Antenna Kit
Description
The Honeywell GSM3DBKT is an AlarmNet antenna kit that includes a GSM-ANT3DB weatherproof external antenna, a K14207LF adapter cable, a WA7626-CA adapter cable and a 7670F mounting bracket. The GSM3DBKT antenna kit is meant for an AlarmNet cellular alarm monitoring communicator that needs an external antenna to improve its cellular signal strength.
Unlike the GSM3DB25KT and GSM3DB50KT antenna kits, the Honeywell GSM3DBKT does not include the antenna coax cable needed to connect the GSM-ANT3DB external antenna to the WA7626-CA adapter cable. You can choose to use any of the available coax cables with the GSM3DBKT antenna kit. If you choose the Honeywell 7626-5 you will be able to install the external antenna up to 5’ from your cellular alarm monitoring communicator. If you choose the Honeywell 7626-25HC or the Honeywell 7626-50HC you will have 25’ or 50’ of extension respectively, which should be enough cable to be able to mount your AlarmNet external antenna on the outside of your home. You will not be able to add the GSM-ANT3DB external antenna to your AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicator if you do not purchase one of the coax cables in addition to the GSM3DBKT.
The AlarmNet GSM3DBKT is compatible with nearly every AlarmNet dual path alarm monitoring communicator or cellular alarm monitoring communicator. You can use the GSM3DBKT with the Honeywell GSMV and VISTA-GSM cellular alarm communicators. You can also use the GSM3DBKT with the Honeywell GSMX or GSMVLP as long as you also use the GSM-EAA external antenna accessory. The Honeywell iGSMV and iGSMHS dual path alarm monitoring communicators are also compatible with the GSM3DBKT antenna kit.
You should purchase the GSM3DBKT if your AlarmNet cellular alarm monitoring communicator is having problems communicating with Alarm Grid’s central station. The AlarmNet alarm monitoring communicators use AT&T’s cellular GSM network to transmit alarm signals wirelessly to Alarm Grid’s central station. Sometimes, depending on where you live and what your home is made of, the cellular signal strength within your home will not be strong enough for the cellular alarm communicator to transmit alarm signals to the cellular GSM tower in your area. If you add the AlarmNet GSM-ANT3DB external antenna to your AlarmNet dual path or cellular alarm monitoring communicator, your cellular signal strength should dramatically increase. The GSM-ANT3DB is a higher gain antenna than the internal antenna of your AlarmNet alarm communicator, therefore the cellular signal strength will be much stronger. Also the coax cables allow you to mount the antenna in a remote location so that you can choose the optimal point of cellular reception. Both of these advantages work together to improve the cellular signal strength enough so that your AlarmNet alarm communicator will work reliably.
