Honeywell Home PROSIXPANIC
Encrypted Wireless Dual Button Panic
Description
The Honeywell Home PROSIXPANIC is a convenient remote device that you can use to trigger a panic alert on your PROA7PLUS, PROA7PLUSC, PROA7, or PROA7C. This small and compact panic button can easily fit in your pocket or purse so that you can quickly activate it in the event of an emergency.
Many users like to keep panic buttons nearby so that they can call for help if they hear or see something suspicious. A convenient aspect of the PROSIXPANIC is that it comes with an accessory clip so that it can be worn as a wristband, lanyard, or belt clip. It is also a good idea to keep the PROSIXPANIC by your bedside in case you hear someone breaking into your house at night. The PROSIXPANIC can be configured as an audible panic, or as a silent panic. Whether you want the alert to be audible or silent is up to you. An audible panic is good for scaring off any potential intruders and minimizing damage. But some users prefer silent panic alarms. This could be because they want to try and help the authorities to catch the intruders in the act, or so that they can set off the panic alarm without the intruder knowing. Remember that you will need a monitoring plan with central station service to receive emergency dispatch after activating the PROSIXPANIC.
Although the PROSIXPANIC has two (2) buttons, you can only configure one (1) function for the device. In other words, the PROSIXPANIC device will only use one (1) zone on your ProSeries System. To activate the programmed function, you must press and hold both buttons for three (3) seconds. This helps to prevent false activations. An LED light on the unit will confirm that a transmission signal was sent out. This LED light will also tell you when the device has a low battery. Green means that the battery is good. Red means that the battery is low. And no light means the battery is dead, and the sensor cannot send out signals. The sensor uses a single lithium CR2450 battery for power, and its expected battery life is five (5) years. Like other PROSIX Sensors, the PROSIXPANIC can communicate with a ProSeries Panel from more than 200 feet away, though obstacles like large metal objects and thick walls may diminish wireless range.
The buttons on the PROSIXPANIC have a tactile feel, which comes in handy when operating the device in low-light areas. Visually impaired users will also appreciate this feature. The device is water-resistant, so you won't have to worry about bringing it in the rain or keeping it by your bath or shower. But do not fully submerge the PROSIXPANIC in water. Like all PROSIX devices, the PROSIXPANIC uses 128-bit AES encryption when communicating with the PROA7PLUS System. This prevents others from blocking or mimicking wireless signals, and it makes the sensor virtually impossible to defeat. In part because secret encryption keys are shared, the PROSIXPANIC can only be enrolled with one system at any given time. The sensor uses a unique MAC Address as a Serial Number, and it can be auto-enrolled with a compatible ProSeries Security System.
