Description

The AT&T LTE Interlogix 600-1048-XT-LTE-AT Cellular Module is arguably the most important upgrade a user can obtain for their Interlogix Simon control panel. This module is ideal for Simon owners who are wanting Alarm.com service with reliable AT&T LTE cellular signal in their area.

This module is compatible with the Simon XT V1.3+, Simon XTi or Simon XTi-5 panel. Once added, the panel will experience ultra-fast LTE cellular communication speeds from the AT&T network. The module is very easy for end users to install, and no tools are needed to complete the process. Simply insert the module and have the alarm monitoring company activate the device to get started. In most cases the registration can be done remotely without a site visit. Adding the module will greatly enhance the versatility of the system in terms of remote access and customized alerts, and its communication speeds will be significantly improved.

This AT&T LTE communicator will live reside inside the main control panel of the Simon XT, Simon XTi or Simon XTi-5 depending on which system you have. There is a reserved area inside these panels that is designed to secure the cellular communicator. The module will fit snugly inside the panel, and no tools are needed to complete the installation. The module must then be activated by the user's alarm monitoring company before it will function. Once it has been activated, the user can then take full advantage of all the functions and features of Alarm.com.

With the Interlogix System connected to a cellular network, it will be able to access the Alarm.com platform. This service is used for robust remote control such as arming and disarming, checking sensor and system live status, controlling Z-Wave devices and more. And with the Alarm.com Mobile App, these actions can be performed from virtually anywhere. Overall, this service presents a huge added value for any Simon alarm system owner. It is absolutely necessary for getting the most out of you security system.

The AT&T LTE communicator also provides Z-Wave operation for the alarm system with its integrated Z-Wave controller. Z-Wave refers to a special wireless communication frequency that is used for controlling Z-Wave home automation devices. A user can control their Z-Wave devices from the panel or from an interactive service platform like Alarm.com. By programming rules and scenes, a user can have their Z-Wave devices activate automatically when certain system events occur. This could include actions like arming the system or triggering a door contact. Some popular Z-Wave devices include lights, thermostats and door locks.

Note:This is the AT&T LTE version of the Interlogix cellular communicator. If Verizon provides stronger signal in your area, then Alarm Grid recommends the Verizon LTE module instead.

Note: Simon XT panels must be firmware version 1.3 or higher to support this radio.

Note: This cellular module can only work with the Simon XTi-5i if the module has firmware version 191C or higher. Any 600-1048-XT-LTE-AT that is running a firmware version of 189C or higher can still be activated so that a firmware update can be pushed down to the module from Alarm.com. If the module is running a firmware version of 188 or lower, then it cannot be used with a Simon XTi-5i. If you are not sure of the firmware version for your module, you can provide us with its IMEI number, and we can check it for you. Any new module you purchase from Alarm Grid should be running the latest firmware at the time of purchase.

The Interlogix 600-1048-XT-LTE-AT is an AT&T LTE Cellular Communicator for the Interlogix Simon Series Systems, including the Simon XT, Simon XTi, Simon XTi-5, Simon XTi-5i. This module will provide reliable connectivity between the panel and the Alarm.com servers across the AT&T LTE Cellular Network. The unit also includes a built-in Z-Wave controller so that you can begin building an automation network for use with the system. Overall, we really like the Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT, and we would recommend it to any Interlogix Simon System user who receives good coverage from the AT&T LTE Network. For that reason, we give this product a 5 Star rating.

There are many positive aspects regarding the Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT. For one, it provides reliable monitoring service across the AT&T LTE Network. With a strong cellular connection, it is highly unlikely that your system will ever lose service or go offline. The fact that this communicator allows for connectivity with Alarm.com is very important, as the platform allows for convenient remote system and automation operation. And the fact that the Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT doubles as a Z-Wave controller is an added bonus, as you can begin setting up an automation network of smart devices for use with the Alarm.com platform.

The Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT does not have many downsides. One issue is that it requires a cellular monitoring plan to be used. A cellular monitoring plan is typically more expensive than an IP-only monitoring plan that other systems can support. The Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT provides cellular connectivity only. Since most Alarm.com Monitoring Plans include both cellular and IP service, you may want to get a communicator that allows for both cellular and IP service. Like any communicator for an Interlogix Simon System, the Interlogix 600-1048-LTE-AT must be installed inside the panel. But these downsides are relatively minor, and they do not stop us from giving the product a 5 Star rating.

Good: Reliable Monitoring Service, AT&T LTE, Alarm.com, Z-Wave

Bad: Requires Cellular Monitoring Plan, Cell-Only, Must be Installed

Bottom Line: 5 Stars
