Description
The Interlogix HDX-135 is a wireless heat detector that offers both rate-of-rise and fixed temperature heat detection. The rate-of-rise sensor activates with a temperature increase of 12°F or higher in a single minute. The fixed temperature sensor activates upon sensing 135°F or higher.
As a heat sensor, the HDX-135 is best used in situations where a regular smoke detector shouldn't be used. This includes areas that art particularly dusty or humid, as those environmental conditions could cause interference for a smoke detector. Some popular places to use heat sensors instead of smoke detectors include kitchens, bathrooms, garages and attics. Once the device has been activated, it can alert the alarm system and cause a fire alarm. The system can then report the issue to a central monitoring station so that automatic emergency fire dispatch can occur.
The HDX-135 operates at 319.5 MHz. This is the wireless frequency associated with Interlogix/GE Systems and Qolsys Systems with the legacy 319.5 MHz daughtercard. Users should make sure that the sensor is compatible with their system before purchasing. It is also very important that the user places their system on test mode and tests the sensor after enrolling it with the system. This process can be accomplished using a portable heated hair dryer. The sensor uses a lithium CR123A 3V battery for power.
