The Lutron Caseta Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Module is designed to provide advanced control capabilities for two lamps. The module plugs into any standard wall outlet. Two lamps can connect with the built-in outlets on the dimmer module so they can be controlled through the smart lighting system.

The Caseta Dimmer Module supports up to 100 watts for dimmable LED or Compact Fluorescent (CFL) bulbs or 300 watts for use with incandescent or halogen bulbs. There are two outlets on the dimmer module that are designed for lamps only. Two lamps can plug-in to the module, allowing them to be operated immediately. The dimmer module just needs to be integrated with the rest of the Lutron setup. The device offers options for increasing and decreasing the lighting level and for turning the lights on or off as needed.

There are three ways to control a lamp through the Caseta Dimmer Module. The dimmer module itself has buttons on the front for local control. A second option is to use a Pico Remote for on-site operation. The Pico Remotes can be wall mounted like a traditional in-wall switch, used on a pedestal to sit on top of a table or even just float around on a coffee table. Most users will want to add a Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge for remote status and control as well. With the bridge, users can control their lamps from anywhere using the Lutron App or Apple HomeKit. They can also use voice commands sent through HomeKit, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. The smart bridge will also allow a user to create smart scenes and automations involving their lamps.

Since the Honeywell Lyric Controller operating on firmware revision 01.07 or higher supports Apple HomeKit, you can integrate security actions as triggers for automated rules from within the Apple Home App. That means you can use behaviors like arming, disarm or opening your front door as possible triggers to turn your Lutron Caseta lights on an off!
