Features and Specifications of IQ Thermostat

The IQ Thermostat has an easy to install back plate and wiring for various mounting options. You can enable “auto” settings to automatically switch from heat to cool (and vice versa) and create several custom automation features such as “Adjust my thermostat when I go to bed.” With “geo fencing” automation, IQ Thermostat knows when you’re home and when you’re gone.

The dimensions of the thermostat are 145mm x 100mm x 25mm. The LCD screen dimensions are 66.5mm x 28.5 mm.The wireless signal range of the IQ Thermostat is 100 feet in open air and has a transmitter frequency of 908.4 MHz. The thermostat comes with 4-AA batteries.

IQ Thermostat can measure temperatures between 30 to 99°F and operates best between 32 and 99°F. When setting a temperature on your IQ Thermostat, you can select temperatures between 41 and 99°F.

Mounting Your IQ Thermostat

Ideally, you should install your IQ Thermostat in the same location as the thermostat that you’re replacing. If you want to install your IQ Thermostat in a new spot in your home or you don’t feel comfortable installing it yourself, call a professional.

If possible, avoid mounting your IQ Thermostat above or near hot surfaces, appliances, or equipment. Keep out of direct sunshine or an enclosed space, particularly when water can splash on the device.

Before you get started, have your instructional manual nearby and do a quick read through (this will help you get a better idea of what you’ll be doing). It’s also a good idea to have someone else give you a hand, just in case you need help.

Before you remove the old thermostat, go to your fuse box and turn off your HVAC and AC unit. Pull the cover of your old thermostat off the wall and take note of the wiring inside. It’s a good idea to take a picture with your phone, to keep as a reference.

Once you loosen the screws on the terminal block (so you can remove the wires), you can remove the back plate. Don’t lose or throw out the jumper wire.

Next, open your IQ Thermostat and mount the backplate, making sure it’s level and secure on the wall. Connect your wires in the correct place (use your picture for reference if you need to), and make sure everything is clean and secure.

Insert your batteries into the front plate of the thermostat. From right to left, put the front plate of your IQ Thermostat onto the backplate; you should hear “click.” Turn your breaker back on, and you should be ready to connect your thermostat with your IQ Panel.

Setting Your IQ Thermostat and Adding It To Your IQ Panel

Since there are countless customization options on your IQ Thermostat, each user experience for setting up the thermostat will be different. The best way to learn how to customize the settings on your IQ Thermostat is by following the step-by-step directions in your instructional manual.

When you want to add your IQ Thermostat to your IQ Panel, go to the panel and select “settings,” then “advanced settings.” Next, you will be prompted to enter a code, and you can enter the Dealer code (2222) or the Installer code (1111).

Select “installation,” “home control device,” and then “add device.” You will then be prompted to “learn” or “pair” the device. To do this, hold the “Home” key on your IQ Thermostat for 2 seconds until “NOC” appears. Press “program” and you should see “Srh” (searching for network).

Once the network is found you will see “done” appear. Press the “Home” key to go back to the default screen. Your IQ Thermostat should be successfully added to your IQ Panel. You will then have the option to change the name of the device and make any additional customizations on your IQ Panel.
