Description
This 3-1 kit includes the IQ4 Hub 345 MHz Security System with an integrated Verizon LTE Cellular Communicator, three (3) VERSA-2GIG Door/Window Contacts, and one (1) 5800PIR-RES Motion Detector. It is a great kit for a location where only a few sensors are needed.
The IQ4 Hub uses the same processor platform as the IQ Panel 4. Qolsys wanted to offer a more cost-effective option. In many cases, customers did not want the built-in camera. A lot of users did not need to support more than one (1) wireless frequency. So, the IQ4 Hub was born. They removed the front-facing camera, and instead of being able to use two (2) wireless frequencies, the IQ4 Hub only supports one. A few other hardware options were removed from the IQ4 Hub. You can see a comparison of the features in the table below.
The IQ4 Hub is still a feature-packed panel with great options. It has an 8-core Qualcomm SnapDragon processor with 16 GB of NAND Flash memory, dual-band WIFI, Bluetooth disarming capabilities, live viewing of Alarm.com cameras, Live Answer when used with the Alarm.com doorbell cameras, and an 800-series Z-Wave controller.
The IQ4 Hub still communicates to Alarm.com, which means at least a Plan with cellular communication is required. For Alarm Grid customers, this is a Gold Plan (self or full) or higher. This is a nice starter kit or an add-on when you want to upgrade a panel that is using existing, Honeywell or 2GIG, 345 MHz sensors.
The three (3) door/window sensors and one (1) motion detector included in this kit are perfect for protecting small homes or apartments. The door and window sensors offer a small presence but with a large range. They measure only 2.2 inches long by 1 inch wide with a range of 500+ feet in open air. The motion is widely used in the industry and provides 35 by 40 feet of detection area. It also offers up to 80lbs of pet immunity when the mounting guidelines for pet immunity are followed.
