Description
This kit includes a Qolsys IQ4 Hub 433 MHz with an integrated Verizon LTE cellular module, ten (10) DSC EV-DW4975 Door/Window Contacts, and one (1) DSC WS4904P Motion. It can serve as an excellent starter kit for a new system, or as a replacement for an existing panel that uses DSC 433 MHz sensors where you want to add additional protection.
The IQ4 Hub is an industry-leading panel that is modeled after the IQ Panel 4, but marketed as a more cost-effective option. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-core processor with 16GB of NAND Flash memory. It has Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) support, which allows the IQ4 Hub the option to automatically disarm from Away Mode when your mobile phone is connected and comes within Bluetooth range. It also supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI bands. Users can view Alarm.com cameras from the IQ4 Hub's 7" touchscreen. They can also use the Live Answer feature with Alarm.com doorbells.
The IQ4 Hub's built-in Verizon LTE cellular module and the integrated Dual-band WIFI communicate through Alarm.com. The IQ4 Hub uses Alarm.com interactive remote services. Alarm.com requires the monitored panel to have an activated cellular connection. A Gold monitoring plan (self or full), or Cellular Alarm Monitoring is required for Alarm Grid customers.
Included in this kit are ten (10) DSC door/window contacts. The EV-DW4975 door or window contact is very thin measuring 2 1/4"L X 1"W X .15/64"D. It is surface mounted using either the included foam tape or screws. The EV-DW4975 can support a magnet spacing gap of up to 5/8 of an inch. It uses a Panasonic 3V CR2032 Lithium battery with an average life span of around five (5) to eight (8) years.
Also included in this kit is (1) DSC motion. The WS4904P is a passive infrared (PIR) motion with up to 60lb pet immunity when properly installed. It has a coverage area of up to 40 feet by 40 feet. Each time the WS4904P detects motion, it will then go to sleep for three (3) minutes, which allows its 3V Lithium battery to last for up to nine (9) years.
This is a good starter kit for any mid-sized home, office, or apartment. However, more than likely this kit will be used to replace an existing DSC panel where the user already has 433 MHz sensors installed and working. This saves money since it allows existing working sensors to remain in service.
