Description
This is an encrypted kit that includes the IQ4 Hub 319.5 MHz Security System with an integrated Verizon LTE Cellular Communicator and a dual-band capable WIFI module, ten (10) Qolsys IQ DW MINI-S Door/Window Sensors, and one (1) Qolsys IQ Motion-S Encrypted Motion Detector. This is a good kit to protect any location, whether it's an apartment, condo, office, or home.
The Qolsys IQ4 Hub has many modern features to boast about, such as a 7" Color Touchscreen, support for up to four (4) partitions, the live streaming of Alarm.com video cameras to the panel, including Live Answer for the Alarm.com video doorbells, a Z-Wave Plus controller, and much more.
The IQ4 Hub's integrated LTE Cellular and WIFI modules communicate only to Alarm.com. They require cellular to be activated on all of their devices. Alarm Grid customers need to select a Gold (self or full) monitoring plan or higher. These plans include the ability to view and control your panel and any automation from the Alarm.com customer website or the app. If automation is not required, there is a Cellular Alarm Monitoring plan available.
Qolsys created the IQ4 Hub as a more cost-effective alternative to the IQ Panel 4. Although the user interface is the same, Qolsys removed some of the less popular hardware features. This allows the IQ4 Hub to come in at a lower price point. Among the hardware items removed are the front-facing camera, three (3) of four (4) speakers, two (2) of three (3) microphones. Also, each IQ4 Hub only has the ability to support a single wireless sensor frequency.
The IQ4 Hub does have the same processor and flash memory as the IQ Panel 4. It supports the same number of zones and users. This IQ4 Hub, with 319.5 MHz support for Interlogix/GE and Qolsys sensors, works with both encrypted and non-encrypted sensors. Because of this, if you have any existing 319.5 MHz sensors from Interlogix/GE or Qolsys, it will support those too. You can use this kit to upgrade your current panel and expand your protection to include more doors and windows.
Qolsys created the S-Line series of sensors to provide encryption between the panel and the sensor. The S-Line sensors use a rolling code transmission. During enrollment, the panel and the sensor synch. From that point, only the panel and the sensor know what the next transmission will be. Because every transmission uses a new rolling code, this prevents someone from duplicating a transmission and repeating it to spoof the sensor.
This kit includes ten (10) encrypted IQ DW MINI-S door or window sensors and one (1) encrypted Qolsys IQ Motion-S. The MINI-S door or window sensors are ultra-compact. They measure a mere 2.25 inches long by 1 inch wide and .5 inches deep. They also provide a front and a back tamper for added security. The IQ Motion-S is smaller sized as well, measuring 3.4 inches long by 2.4 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. It offers up to 40 lb pet immunity when properly installed, and a tamper switch to protect against unauthorized opening of the sensor.
