Description

The Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS 7" All-In-One Security System supports the next generation of Honeywell Home PROSIX Series Wireless Sensors, Z-Wave Plus Smart Home functionality, and four (4) system partitions. This advanced panel represents the future of the alarm industry from Resideo.

As an alarm system, the ProSeries Next Generation Panel represents the first major release from Resideo since the company completed their spin-off from Honeywell. Resideo knows this system will represent a major first impression of their new ProSiX lineup. The company is holding nothing back, as they truly want to show off what they can bring to the world of home security.

The result is a beautiful 7-inch panel with a completely redesigned menu. It is simple, crisp, user-friendly and a welcome addition to any home or business. Checking the main screen will provide easily accessible arming options, panic functions, a convenient current weather display and the time. Advanced home automation functions can be quickly accessed to operate smart scenes and set the perfect mood.

The Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS Panel comes with the Honeywell Home PROWIFIZW Module installed. This unit provides Z-Wave and WIFI capabilities. The module can be purchased separately for replacement if the original unit becomes damaged. Cellular connectivity is optional and can be obtained by adding a Honeywell Home PROLTE-Series Module (sold separately). You might also consider adding a PROTAKEOVER Module for legacy sensor support. The Honeywell Home PROTAKEOVER is sold separately. Without the PROTAKEOV, the panel can still support ProSix and SiX Sensors. Do NOT attempt to install any hardware while the system is powered on.

Features for the ProSeries 7" All-In-One Plus include the support for up to four (4) unique system partitions, advanced Z-Wave 500-Series Technology, the ability to interface with the brand-new Honeywell Home ProSiX Series Sensors, a built-in camera, automatic Bluetooth disarming capabilities, and WIFI capabilities. The panel is also backward compatible with the Honeywell SiX Series Sensors which are used with the Honeywell Lyric Alarm System. Out of the box, without adding a PROTAKEOVER module, the system supports only PROSIX and SiX Series wireless devices. The PROA7PLUS also comes with Amazon Alexa built-in so that you can easily control the system with spoken voice commands.

A ProSeries Wireless Takeover Module (PROTAKEOVER) can be added to support additional sensor frequencies, such as those used with Honeywell 5800 Sensors & 2GIG 345 MHz Sensors, DSC 433 MHz Sensors, 319.5 MHz Sensors, or Bosch Sensors. Please note that the ProSeries Wireless Takeover Module has a toggle selector, and it can only support one (1) of the aforementioned protocols at a time. Also note that this will only allow for the support of uni-directional legacy sensors using the selected radio frequency. Bi-directional 5800 Sensors cannot be used in any capacity. Wired-to-wireless sensor support is available using the Honeywell Home PROSIXC2W Wired to Wireless Converter, specifically designed for use with the ProSeries Panel.

Up to (78) total Z-Wave devices can used with the ProSeries Plus Panel. This includes support for up to (60) lighting modules, six (6) garage door controllers, six (6) door locks, and six (6) Z-Wave thermostats. The panel uses Z-Wave Plus 500-Series technology. Compatible Honeywell and Resideo WIFI Thermostats can be used with the system. Up to four (4) WIFI thermostats can be paired, however, they will also count towards the Z-Wave thermostat limit of six (6) thermostats.

A former limitation of the PROA7PLUS was that it did not support local end-user programming but as of firmware version 03.591.92.0 it now supports the panel through the touchscreen. Beginning in version 03.1868.32.0, the PROA7PLUS supports Apple HomeKit integration. Refer to this FAQ for details on how to set it up. The use of the panel with Apple HomeKit requires a connection to WIFI, and to control the panel remotely, the HomeKit setup must have a hub installed such as an Apple HomePod, iPad, or Apple TV. See the above-referenced FAQ for iOS version requirements.

Note: Up to 250 Zones are available on the ProSeries Panel. However, only 127 of these zones can be used with ProSix and SiX Series devices. To unlock the other 123 zones for legacy sensor support, a PROTAKEOVER Module is needed.

Note: Observe the wiring chart below for limits on Transformer wiring length per wire gauge:

Wire Gauge Max Wire Run
16 AWG 110 Feet
18 AWG 70 Feet
20 AWG 45 Feet
22 AWG 25 Feet

Note: Do not attempt to install hardware or add-on modules while the ProSeries Panel is powered on.

Note: Alarm Grid also offers the Resideo PROA7PLUSC. This is the same system as the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS listed here, but instead of displaying "Honeywell Home" on the front of the panel, the Resideo PROA7PLUSC says "Resideo" on the front.

Note: The PROA7PLUS is ETL listed to UL specifications for Residential Burg, Residential Fire, and Commercial Burg.

Please read this notice regarding possible issues with Schlage Z-Wave locks.

Hey Todd, Happy to hear the lyric is working well for you, The PROA7 and the lyric share the same features with the Lyric, With the current firmware update the PROA7 has access to Homekit and with the PROTAKEOVER mod you can use 5800series devices and other manufacture's wireless sensors such as DSC and GE/Interlogixs. The PROA7 is alos on the new Titan server for TC2 which helps with response time between the Panel and Total Connect2.0.
I love it. My old Lyric which works great has all the things people have been asking for above. It has 5800, it has and WORKS with Homekit, local control, TC2.0, Lock and garage control... I can't figure out why I would want this? Todd
Still awaiting word! We hope to have an update soon.
Any news as of 2023 for HomeKit or Matter? Really want to upgrade to this ONLY if it has Homekit.
Yes, you will just need to put the panel in "Local Mode" to program it. Then take it off when ready to activate! We have a video going over local mode as well.
Does the PROA7PLUS support local end-user programming now?
Yes this has a Z-Wave Plus controller. It is a newer version Z-Wave controller. I have never seen the manufacturers Auto Lock feature in anyones remote interactive app. You can setup scenes to automate some features of the lock. You can see lock status and remotely lock/unlock compatible locks using the Customer Website or Customer app. Receive email/text/push notifications when lock is used. Set up automated locking/unlocking based on system arming/disarming. Set up automated arming/disarming based on locking/unlocking. and more. Please check out scenes in the TC2 app/website.
Is the Z-Wave support on this panel superior to the Honeywell Lyric? On the Lyric all I can do with the door lock is lock/unlock. I can't control any other function (ie. Autolock and other lock features) Is there any detail on the Z-Wave support in this panel? (Aside from what is written above)
Hi Al, You can control a great deal of automation with the Total Connect 2 app. Specifically, what type of automation do you want to control?
Hi , Can I control All My Automation from app form local wifi? If yes what app?
Hi Adam, There does not need to be another set of contacts. In your example the alarm system’s door contact faults (opens). A Z-wave “scene” has been created that turns on a light when that door contact shows faulted. The power for the light is run through a Z-wave switch that is learned into the Z-wave mesh network so there is a way for the system to control the light.
Does the panel have the ability to use the contact sensors as automation for turning on lights for example when a door opens? It isn't clear to me if it can do that, or only using zwave devices meaning a seperate zwave contact sensor would be needed just for the automation side.
No ETA, but they have stated they intend to add Homekit at some point?
The have no ETA
Has Honeywell made any comments if Homekit is expected to come to this system or not?
Hey Austin, You should but if in the rare chance you get one that does not once registered to alarmnet 360 an update can be pushed down to the panel
So if I ordered one today I would get the version with local programming capability?
Hi Pradeep, your panel should have this option as you're on the latest firmware where the local programming option was released. Please call or email us if you had questions in regards to your account.
Whats taking so long to get the local programming added? Can I join the beta test?
Latest firmware just came out and still no HomeKit. So frustrating. I do have this panel connected to HomeKit through HomeBridge and the TC2 plugin. It at least works but far from ideal.
yes but panel programming is currently in beta testing
still the case?
Was this on the 5800 setting? I have some legacy 5800 devices and it seems like you need to pick 2G or 5800 on this thing.
I noted three Honeywell security systems, Proseries, Vista, and Tuxedo Touch, is the Pro series the newest and advanced?. I need a wireless system (e.g. LTE, Zwave, WiFi) to install in my home outside USA, will it work locally without monitoring \ programming services. Please advise and feel free to suggest any other options.
Same boat here. No HomeKit = no purchase. Yes HomeKit = instant purchase. Hope Honeywell is listening and that AlarmGrid is doing anything they can to help lobby
no updates yet
How about now? I won't go Lyric as that will clearly be phased out by the A7 and I only want Homekit so I am patiently waiting.
I have the Honeywell ProA7Plus with PROTAKEOVER Module, and the FF345 Installed. In my testing it works fine. Perhaps it is just not "100% supported", or "use at your own risk"?
Will the 2Gig/Encore FF345 firefighter module work with the PROTAKEOVER wireless takeover module?
Any news on the HomeKit front?
I was under the impression the 5800 life safety will NOT work with the PROTAKEOVER?
Need a list of which 5800 series legacy components that will NOT be compatible to the pro A7 . 5877 , Ect .. thanks
Thanks , If i upgrade from a l7000 do you handle all the programming since local is not avail .. ? thanks
does my 5800 series smoke detectors and CO have to be upgraded to six series ??
Currently there is no option for local programming on this panel, meaning you will need to get it registered through a monitoring service in order to have any sensors programmed to the panel. You could end the service whenever and continue using the system without monitoring, but if you need to do any programming on the panel it would need to be reregistered.
Can the Pro Series Honeywell be used as a stand Alone Panel without monitoring?
Good afternoon, I have few questions for this system, how many wireless Sirens can you have on one system, can you use both 5800 sensors and new Six sensors at the same time, is there a repeater to expand the distance for sensor communication, if you have multiple touch keypads whats the max distance from the main panel to the remote touch keypad? Thanks
Reading the comments below it looks like this has to be monitored and does not offer local programming so how would I add sensors, add zwave devices to start with and down the road as I decide to add or change devices?
Yes, the Linear would give control locally and through TC2, but the contact that comes with the Linear will only talk to the garage door controller, it won't act as a security zone on the panel. If you want to actually monitor the door for security when the system is armed, you'll need a separate sensor for that. I'm not sure I understand the second question, the PROTAKEOVER, if set to Honeywell 5800 will support the 5817, as far as I know. As long as you program the zone with the correct loop number it should be fine. The only thing I know that the PROTAKEOVER module won't support are the 5800 2-way devices such as the 5828, 5800WAVE, 5800RP, etc. Things that use a House ID to get status from the panel.
Thanks for the response. The Linear would give control locally and through total connect, correct? How about for monitoring dry contacts such as a sprinkler waterflow? Previously I had the 5817 which I assume will not be compatible with the TAKEOVER
The 5877 is not supported on the PROA7PLUS. You need to update to either the Linear GD00Z-8 (if you want local control) or to one of the MYQ garage door openers, which you could control via Total Connect 2.0, but not through the panel.
Will the 5877 garage door relay work with this or will that need to be replaced upon an upgrade?
Do I also need the Honeywell LT-CABLE?
Thanks. Will you sell a package of this system with contacts like with the Lyric?
Are the pro six series contacts available yet?
Can this be used as a just a local panel or does it have to be monitored?
It is not available yet. It does Alexa though. Embedded Amazon Alexa Voice service with skills. Can be accessed via the Main Panel or the PROWLTOUCH WiFi keypads. Alexa integration supports music, flash briefings, weather, time, add to calendar, set timers, create shopping lists, answer general questions and many more capabilities, but excludes book reading capability.
Hello, The 5800c2w works on any system using Honeywell/Resideo 5800. The takeover module when used for 5800 will support the 5800c2w converter module.
Any word on HomeKit compatibility?
Is the 5800CW compatible with the takeover module?
Yes, With the takeover module mentioned above, you can use SIX and 5800 at the same time.
Can you use Six series sensors and 5800 series at the same time on this panel? I have a combination of both.
