How Do I Find the Firmware Version of a PROA7PLUS?
To find the firmware version of a PROA7PLUS, or any PROSeries panel, begin by tapping the menu icon. Scroll down and tap Tools > Enter the Installer or Master Code (4112 or 1234, by default) > tap System Information > General. The firmware version will be displayed in a XX.XXXX.XX format.
The PROSeries lineup consists of the Honeywell Home PROA7 and PROA7PLUS, as well as the Resideo PROA7C and PROA7PLUSC. While the Honeywell Home brand is targeted toward residential users, Resideo is geared towards commercial applications. For a detailed comparison of these panels, please refer to this FAQ.
To receive Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates, these panels must be monitored and connected to WIFI. Cellular data is not used for firmware downloads. The PROA7 and PROA7C models, in particular, do not have built-in WIFI, so be mindful of this. To enable WIFI connectivity, you'll need to add a PROWIFI (WIFI-only) or PROWIFIZW (WIFI + Z-Wave) module to the panel and then connect it to your WIFI network.
To fully harness the power of your PROSeries panel, consider a monitoring plan. Alarm Grid offers flexible, contract-free WIFI monitoring options. The PROA7PLUS comes pre-installed with a PROWIFIZW, enabling WIFI connectivity out of the box. Alarm Grid offers a Bronze Plan for basic self monitoring or full central station monitoring using only WIFI connectivity. For those expanding their system with Z-Wave devices, the Silver Plan (Self or Full) is ideal. Our full plans provide comprehensive central station monitoring, while self-monitored plans offer DIY security.
For enhanced security and peace of mind, add an LTE cellular module. This module ensures reliable communication even if your WIFI connection falters. To utilize cellular monitoring, opt for our Gold Plan (Self or Full). PROLTE modules are available in AT&T and Verizon versions. Our top-tier Platinum plan provides all the same features of a Self or Full Gold plan plus adds video capabilities when Total Connect 2.0 compatible cameras are used.
