John in Washington Asks How to Power on an L5100

Hi DIYers. This is Sterling Donnelly with Alarm Grid, and today the question we'll be answering is from John in Washington. John has wondered how to power on a LYNX Touch L5100 panel. We have the panel with us, so far it's straight out of the box. We haven't done anything to it. So I'm going to walk you through the steps of attaching the power supply and then powering it up.

What we're going to need is a little flat-head screwdriver. There are two tabs along the top, and you basically press down on the tab, better than I'm doing here. This is not the right tool. We've got one open.

Both tabs open, hinges up and open. This is the inside of the L5100. If you notice, right here is the power adapter plug that we're going to be using. If you did not have the LT cable, which we have, which makes it a lot easier for us DIYers, you would actually have to strip out your white wire, your two-conductor wire, and attach to these 2 terminals, +9VDC and ground.
