Can I Use the PROA7PLUS With Alarm.com?
No, you cannot use the PROA7PLUS with Alarm.com. None of the ProSeries Alarm Panels from Honeywell Home and Resideo will work with Alarm.com. There is no Alarm.com Cellular Communicator available for these systems. But they can support a similar service called Total Connect 2.0 instead.
Alarm.com is an interactive security notification and automation platform used with a wide selection of security systems. The convenient service can be accessed using a compatible web browser or a mobile app on your phone. Users access the Alarm.com platform to arm/disarm their systems, check current system status, control programmed Z-Wave devices, and to view the live video feeds of Alarm.com Security Cameras when the monitoring plan supports them. Alarm.com will also alert you via text and/or email regarding various activity on your security system.
None of the ProSeries Systems, including the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS, the Honeywell Home PROA7, the Resideo PROA7PLUSC, and the Resideo PROA7C, can be used with Alarm.com. This is because there is no Alarm.com Communicator available for these systems. Without an Alarm.com Communicator, a system has no way of connecting with the Alarm.com servers. The only Honeywell Systems that have Alarm.com Communicators available for connecting with the Alarm.com service are the Honeywell VISTA P-Series Panels, such as the VISTA-10P, VISTA-15P, VISTA-20P, and VISTA-21iP. Alarm.com managed to reverse engineer the VISTA P-Series Systems to create a series of System Enhancement Modules (SEMs) for them so that they can be used with Alarm.com. They include the ADC-SEM300-VT-AT and the ADC-SEM300-VT-VZ.
While the Honeywell Home and Resideo ProSeries Systems cannot be used with Alarm.com, there is another interactive platform supported by these systems that works just as well as Alarm.com in most regards. This service is called Total Connect 2.0. The Total Connect 2.0 platform was originally built exclusively for use with Honeywell and Resideo Alarm Systems, and it can be accessed from a web browser or a mobile app, just like Alarm.com. Also similar to Alarm.com is the fact that Total Connect 2.0 supports arming/disarming, checking system status, operating Z-Wave automation devices, and viewing live camera feeds, though TC2 uses its own lineup of Total Connect 2.0 Cameras. When you compare the two services, most users notice little difference between Alarm.com and Total Connect 2.0.
