Does the Honeywell VISTA-20P have (48) wireless zones?

The Honeywell VISTA-20P alarm control panel can only protect up to (8) hardwired zones straight out of the box. However, by adding a wireless receiver to your VISTA-20P security system, you can also use wireless protection zones which are compatible with Honeywell's 5800 Series of wireless devices. There are many different wireless receivers that are compatible with the VISTA-20P, but the most popular are the Honeywell 5881ENL, 5881ENM and the 5881ENH. The 5881ENL is the low version wireless receiver and only supports up to (8) wireless zones. The Honeywell 5881ENM is the medium range wireless receiver that supports up to (16) wireless zones and the 5881ENH is the highest version of the wireless receiver that supports an unlimited number of wireless zones. While the 5881ENH technically supports an unlimited number of wireless zones, when added to an alarm control panel, the number of wireless zones supported by the 5881ENH will actually be limited by the alarm control panel chosen.

With the VISTA-20P alarm control panel, a total number of (48) protection zones are supported. However, as the first (8) zones can only be programmed using the standard hardwired terminal zones found on the alarm control panel, the VISTA-20P really only supports a maximum of (40) wireless zones. This is an important distinction as some people see that the VISTA-20P is listed as supporting up to (48) total zones and assume they can use up to (48) wireless devices. By adding a Honeywell 5881ENH wireless receiver to a Honeywell VISTA-20P, you will unlock up to (40) total wireless zones.
