*Smoke Maintenance, often referred to as "Clean Me" reporting is a drift compensation feature that automatically adjusts the smoke detectors sensitivity over time, as things like dust and debris accumulate within the chamber. Once the detector reaches its limit for compensation adjustments, it transmits a High Sensitivity message, piggybacked on the regular check in signal, to the alarm panel. In a High Sensitivity situation, the red LED on the detector will blink once every 5 seconds as an indication of this trouble condition. Not all panels support this feature inherently, only the Vista-FBP Combination Fire and Burg panels do (by programming the zone as a "Smart Contact". For all other panels, if you would like to enable the maintenance feature, program a separate zone as loop 2 with the same serial number, and program it for either a 24 hour trouble, such as Zone Type 12 on the Vista-20P and similar panels. You could also program it as Zone Type 05, Trouble when Disarmed / Alarm when Armed, for panels that don't support Zone Type 12, and on the Vista-20P panels, you can program a configurable zone type to suit your needs.
