Can I add Disarm-Only keyswitch inputs to Vista Panels?
Often, especially when attempting to integrate access control with a Vista-15P or Vista-20P series panel, it's desirable to connect a momentary relay output from the access control system, to a keyswitch input on the Vista panel, so that upon a valid access grant, in addition to unlocking a door, the Vista panel is also disarmed. The problem is, most access control systems lack the ability to program this momentary output to only activate upon the first card swipe, which means that subsequent access grants, will continue to short the keyswitch zone, causing the panel to attempt to arm/disarm every time a card is swiped. To get around this, you can do the following:
For this example, we are using the 4204 relay module, and since it is the only relay module on our system, we're using address 12, wiring to Relay 1. This assumes you've already programmed the keyswitch zone properly and that *79 has been programmed to recognize the 4204 at address 12. Programming will reflect this.
In *79 enter Output Number 01*
Output Type = 1 -Relay *
Module Address = 12*
Relay Position = 1*
At Enter Output Number, press 00 to exit *79 programming
Enter *80
Enter Output Function Number = 01 *
You'll see a summary screen, press *.
01 Activated By? = 2 - zone type *
01 Zone Type = 21 Arming Away *
01 Partition = Partition Number the Keyswitch Zone is assigned to *
01 Action = 2 - Stay Closed *
01 Output Number = 01 *
You'll see another summary screen, press *
Enter Output Function Number = 02 *
You'll see a summary screen, press *.
02 Activated by? = 2 - zone type *
02 Zone type = 22 - Disarming *
02 Partition = Partition Number the Keyswitch Zone is assigned to *
02 Action = 0 - Off *
02 Output Number = 01 *
You'll see another summary screen, press *, then at Enter Output Function Number, enter 00 to exit *80 programming.
Press *99 to Exit Programming
