How Do I Adjust Z-Wave Device Limits On My Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus?
You can adjust Z-Wave device limits on your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus by accessing the Installer or Dealer Z-Wave Programming Settings for the system. The device limits are already set to the maximum by default, but you can use the appropriate menu to adjust these limits, if desired.
The Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus allows for up to 152 unique Z-Wave devices to be programmed. Furthermore, there are also sub-limits for different types of Z-Wave devices used with the system. If you max-out all of the Z-Wave device limits, then you will be able to add up to 152 different Z-Wave devices. Attempting to add any more than that will fail. Though the default setting for each device limit is set to the maximum number of devices allowed, an Installer may have changed these settings during installation.
The maximum allowable limits for each Z-Wave device type is shown in the following table:
Z-Wave Device Type |
Number Supported |
Thermostats | 10 |
Smart Sockets | 15 |
Door Locks | 20 |
Lights | 80 |
Garage Doors | 6 |
Other Z-Wave Devices | 21 |
Total |
152 |
Please note that the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus Z-Wave device limits are different from the Alarm.com Z-Wave device limit. On Alarm.com, attempting to add more than 122 Z-Wave devices will fail. In other words, any Z-Wave device numbered 123 and above will be available on the IQ2 for local control, but it will not be pushed over to Alarm.com for remote control and inclusion with Alarm.com smart scenes. More info on Alarm.com Z-Wave limits can be found here.
