How Do I Change Installer Code On A 2GIG GC3?

You can change the installer code on a 2GIG GC3 by accessing panel programming within the system configuration menu and then setting the installer code to a new four digit code. Please be aware that you will need to know the current installer code for the GC3 panel in order to do this.

We generally recommend keeping the installer code for the 2GIG GC3 at its default of 1561. This is because keeping the installer code at the default does not present any security risk, and it will help to ensure that you do not get locked out of your system's programming. The installer code can't be used to arm the system, nor can it be used for disarming. This means that even if an intruder knows the default 2GIG installer code of 1561, they will not be able to access your security system if it's armed. And if you ever forget the code, you will be able to easily look it up so that you do not get locked out of programming. However, if you do decide to change the code, it is a very easy process.

Complete the following steps to change the installer code on your 2GIG GC3:

1. Access panel programming. From the home screen of your system, click the 2GIG logo in the upper-right corner of the screen. Next, enter the current installer code (the default is 1561). Then choose System Configuration, followed by Panel Programming.

2. Change the installer code. The first field of Panel Programming will read as follows:

Enter the new 4-digit Installer Code, being careful not to duplicate any other existing 4-digit code. Then click "Return to System Configuration" at the top of the screen.
