How Do I Connect the Honeywell Home Tuxedo to WIFI?

You can connect the Honeywell Home Tuxedo to WIFI by accessing the System WIFI Menu, choosing the appropriate WIFI network, and providing the network password. It may take a brief moment for the connection to go through. The Resideo Tuxedo Keypad supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI networks.

Connecting the Resideo Tuxedo to WIFI is strongly recommended. Without a WIFI connection, the Tuxedo can only be used for local system and automation control at the keypad itself. The keypad's WIFI connection is what allows the device to receive remote automation commands from Total Connect 2.0. This is done using a web browser or a mobile app on your phone, and it is great for controlling your connected smart home devices from virtually anywhere in the world. Just remember that a monitoring plan with access to TC2 for automation control will be required. The Tuxedo Keypad also relies on WIFI connectivity for receiving firmware updates from the AlarmNet servers.

Complete the following steps to connect a Resideo Tuxedo Keypad to a WIFI network:

1. Access System WIFI Menu. Start from the main screen of the Tuxedo. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the screen to access settings. Then choose System WIFI. This will take you into the System WIFI Menu.

2. Find the WIFI network. Scroll through the list of available WIFI networks to find the one you want. If you do not see the desired network, try pressing the refresh key in the bottom-right corner. Remember that 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks will be displayed. Click on the desired network once you find it.

3. Provide the network password. Enter the password for the WIFI network, and click Connect. The Tuxedo will then begin connecting to the WIFI network. It may take a moment for the connection to complete. If you do not know the network password, then it may be displayed on your WIFI router.

4. Return home. Once the Tuxedo indicates that it is connected successfully, you can press the picture of the house in the upper-right corner to return home.
