How Do I Delete a Zone From My 2GIG Edge?

You can delete a zone from your 2GIG Edge by accessing the settings menu for that zone and then pressing the red Reset Zone button in the bottom-left corner of the menu screen. After you confirm that you do want to reset the zone, it will be cleared and made available to be reprogrammed.

When you "delete" a zone from the 2GIG Edge, you aren't exactly deleting it from the panel, but rather you are removing all the configured programming data that determined how that particular sensor was treated and making the zone slot empty. The 2GIG Edge has 100 available zone slots. After removing the configuration data for a zone, the panel will still have 100 available zone slots. A new sensor (or even the same old sensor, if it's still operational) can be reprogrammed into the empty slot. So if you want to be technical, you aren't really "deleting a zone", but actually you are resetting it.

Complete the following steps to delete, or more accurately, reset, a zone on the 2GIG Edge.

1. Access zone settings. You first need to access zone settings for the zone you want to reset. Begin from the main screen of the 2GIG Edge. Click the small gear icon in the bottom right. Then enter the Installer Code for the system (default 1561). Scroll down in the Settings Menu, and select the option for Installer Toolbox. Choose Panel Programming. Then, in most cases, you will select Wireless Zones. But, if the zone you are resetting happens to be one of the few wired zones, or the built-in glass break zone, then choose the option for Built-In Zones instead. In either case, the list of zones will be displayed on the left-hand side. Find the zone you want to reset, and click on its name on the left-hand side of the screen. You will now be in the settings menu for that zone.

2. Reset the zone. Click the red Reset Zone button in the bottom-left corner. The system will ask you to confirm. Click the red Reset button on the right. The zone will be reset.

3. Return home. Repeatedly press the return arrow in the upper-right corner to return to the home screen.
