How Do I Use Automatic Bluetooth Disarming On My IQ Panel 2 Plus?
You can use automatic Bluetooth disarming on your IQ Panel 2 Plus by enabling the feature on the system and pairing the phone you want to use. Up to five (5) phones can be paired with the system. The feature is OFF by default and must be enabled on the system before it will work.
The automatic Bluetooth disarming feature is available for any IQ Panel 2 or IQ Panel 2 Plus System. The feature is completely optional to use. Some users may prefer to not use Bluetooth disarming, as they want the security of needing a user code to disarm the system. Remember that anyone that has your phone with its Bluetooth enabled will be able to disarm the system if the feature is turned ON. The only other way to disarm the system is by providing a code at the panel or keypad or by controlling the system through Alarm.com.
Many users find that the automatic Bluetooth feature is extremely convenient. It is a hands-free way to disarm your IQ Panel 2 or IQ Panel 2 Plus System, and it can save you trouble when returning home. But just understand that anyone who gains access to your phone can disarm your your system. If you do not feel comfortable with that potential security risk, then just leave the feature OFF. You can always adjust the settings for the feature later on.
If you decide that you want to use automatic Bluetooth disarming on your IQ Panel 2 Plus, complete these steps:
1. Pair your phone. Before beginning, enable Bluetooth on your phone and put it into its pairing mode. See the instruction manual for your phone if you are not sure how to do this.
On the Qolsys IQ Panel 2, press the small grey bar at the top of the main screen and choose Settings > Advanced Settings > enter Master Code (default 1234, but usually changed) > Bluetooth Devices > Add Phone. The panel will begin searching for your phone. If your phone is in its Bluetooth pairing mode, the IQ Panel 2 should find it. The finding process may take a few moments, so be patient.
Once the phone appears, click on the phone name to begin pairing. A pairing code will appear on both the phone and the IQ Panel 2. Make sure they match. Then click pair on the panel. You will be prompted to adjust the disarming settings for that phone. Set the Disarming option to "Allow Disarming". Then click Save at the bottom. You will be taken back to the Bluetooth Devices Menu.
2. Adjust system Bluetooth settings. With Settings. This will take you into the Bluetooth Settings Menu. Make sure the settings for Bluetooth and Bluetooth Disarm are both ENABLED.
You can also adjust the Bluetooth Timeout. The Bluetooth Timeout setting prevents the system from instantly disarming immediately after you arm. That way you can get out of Bluetooth range and go about your day. Then when you return later and have your phone in Bluetooth range, the system will automatically disarm. Selections of 1, 5, 10, 20, and 30 minutes are available for Bluetooth Timeout. The default value is 10 minutes.
Once you have configured the settings, press the return arrow in the bottom-left corner to return to the main screen.
3. Return to home screen. Press the picture of the house at the bottom to exit and return to the home screen. Your changes will be automatically saved.
