Is there a Peripheral Keypad for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2?
Yes, there is a peripheral keypad for the Qolsys IQ Panel 2. This device is called the Qolsys IQ Remote. This is a wireless touchscreen keypad that provides a secondary point of on-site access for the system. Up to three different IQ Remote Keypads can be programmed with an IQ Panel 2.
In most cases, a user will simply operate their IQ Panel 2 from the actual system itself. But for users with larger properties, it may be helpful to add a secondary access point. This secondary on-site access point can be provided by the Qolsys IQ Remote. The device can be used to arm and disarm the system and to control any Z-Wave home automation devices that have been programmed. These external keypads are often installed near back doors and inside of bedrooms in order to provide the user with quick and easy access to their system.
The IQ Remote uses a secure WIFI connection to sync with the IQ Panel 2 System. In order for the connection to go through, the IQ Remote must be on the same WIFI network as the IQ Panel 2. The pairing process is completed through programming, and you will need to known either the Installer Code (default is 1111) or Dealer Code (default is 2222) to complete the process. Up to three different IQ Remote devices can be paired with an IQ Panel 2. Counting the IQ Panel 2 itself, this will provide four on-site access points for the user.
It is important to note that an IQ Panel 2 can also be operated through Alarm.com. This is an interactive service platform that can be accessed through any web browser or using the Alarm.com Mobile App. This service allows users to arm and disarm their system, check the status of sensors and control Z-Wave home automation devices. Once the user has downloaded the Alarm.com Mobile App, they can simply pull out their Android or iOS device to control their IQ Panel 2.
