What Firmware Version of the Lyric Alarm System Supports an LTE Communicator?

The firmware version of the Lyric Alarm System needed for supporting an LTE communicator is Firmware Version MR3 for the Honeywell LYRICLTE-A (AT&T LTE) and Firmware Version MR9 for the Honeywell LYRICLTE-V (Verizon LTE). A firmware update can be made across a WIFI network if needed.

Adding an LTE communicator to your Lyric System will allow it to connect with the AlarmNet360 Servers across an LTE cellular network. This will provide greater reliability than if you just relied on WIFI connectivity alone. Remember though, you will need a monitoring plan that includes cellular service if you intend on using an LTE communicator. However, you must make sure that your Lyric System is on an appropriate firmware version before upgrading to LTE. This is because you need a minimum firmware version to support an LTE communicator. The LYRICLTE-A, which connects across the AT&T LTE Network, requires Firmware Version V01.03.06548.482, which is commonly referred to as MR3, or higher. The LYRICLTE-V, which connects across the Verizon LTE Network, requires Firmware Version V01.09.07745.491, which is commonly referred to as MR9, or higher.

That being said, it is generally advised that you download the highest firmware version for the system regardless of which communicator you are using. As of April 2020, the highest firmware version for the Lyric System is Firmware Version MR9. More information on this firmware version can be found in this blog post. Remember, upgrading to a newer firmware version will not make your Lyric System incompatible with an existing communicator. Firmware updates are designed to improve system stability, so upgrading to the latest firmware is almost always helpful.
