Activation with Alarm.com is required for weather to display on a Qolsys IQ Panel 2. This is because weather information is sent from the Alarm.com server to the IQ Panel 2. You can enable or disable the relaying of weather information to your IQ Panel 2 from the Alarm.com account.

When the alarm dealer is creating your Alarm.com account, make sure they select the option for "Weather to Panel". This will allow for weather forecast information to be automatically sent to your Qolsys IQ Panel 2. Additional charges may apply, check with your alarm dealer. This setting can always be enabled or disabled later on Alarm.com if desired. Alternatively, the alarm dealer can also manually send weather information to your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 from Alarm.com.

Once your Qolsys IQ Panel 2 has received the weather information for your area, the expected forecast will be displayed in the top left corner of the home screen. The expected conditions will be shown with a weather icon, along with the predicted high and low temperatures for the day. You can also click on this section to display a four-day forecast for your area. This information will be automatically updated on a daily basis if "Weather to Panel" is enabled on your Alarm.com account. The weather information that will be sent will be based on the zip code that is associated with your account.

In addition to sending its standard weather forecast, Alarm.com can also notify you about certain severe weather alerts in your area. These weather alerts include tornadoes, tsunamis and wildfires. It is also important to remember that your panel will stop receiving weather information from Alarm.com if you conduct a master reset of your IQ Panel 2 at any time. If you do this, you can restore automatic weather updates by contacting your alarm monitoring company and asking them to resend weather information to your system,
