What Is the Default Installer Code on a Resideo PROA7C?
The default Installer Code for a Resideo PROA7C is 4112. This is the code used to enter panel programming through the touchscreen. It can also be used to enter walk test mode and perform some other diagnostic functions. The Installer Code cannot disarm the system unless it was used to arm it.
When we talk about the Resideo PROA7C, we're also talking about the Honeywell Home PROA7. When it comes to the default Installer Code, we can also include the Resideo PROA7PLUSC and the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS in the conversation as their default Installer Code is also 4112. The Resideo product line is marketed toward commercial customers, while the Honeywell Home brand is marketed toward residential customers. The Installer Code is used to enter panel programming locally. When the PROSeries panels were first introduced, they didn't offer a local programming option. All programming had to be done using the online portal AlarmNet360. This portal is only available to alarm dealers. That meant the Resideo PROA7C and all of the other PROSeries panels were not DIY friendly. Alarm Grid was involved in beta testing these products and we lobbied vigorously for the local programming option.
In version 3 (3.591.92.0) Resideo introduced the option to program the panel locally. This was good news for Alarm Grid customers and DIYers everywhere. Now, a customer can purchase a Resideo PROA7C, or a PROA7PLUSC, a Honeywell Home PROA7 or PROA7PLUS, initially set up the system, and program in alarm sensors. When they're ready, they can sign up for a monitoring plan and activate service. Before this update, an alarm dealer would have to either perform the installation completely, or they'd have to sit on a phone call with the end-user as they programmed in each sensor.
A distinct advantage all PROSeries panels have over many other systems, particularly Alarm.com systems, is that they support the option for the panel to communicate via WIFI alone. This translates into a significant savings in monthly monitoring fees. Although Alarm Grid always recommends dual-path monitoring, a cellular monitoring plan may be out of reach for some users. Having the availability of WIFI-only communication may make system monitoring available to some customers who might otherwise feel monitoring is not an option for them.
To enter programming on the Resideo PROA7C tap Menu (≡) from the bottom-center of the panel screen, then scroll down and press Tools. Enter the Installer Code (default is 4112) when prompted for a PIN, then select Programming from the list of available options. You can read a full FAQ on programming the PROSeries panels here, including a video walkthrough.
