Resideo PROA7PLUSC

The Resideo PROA7PLUSC is the commercial version of the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS Security System. It is the same system as the Honeywell Home version, but this versions says "Resideo" on the front. This may be preferred by businesses that don't want to use the "Honeywell Home" moniker.

All of the same great features from the residential version return to this commercial version. This is truly a state-of-the-art business alarm system that offers pretty much every feature you could want, and more. Starting with sensor support, the PROA7PLUSC can support the new PROSIX Encrypted Sensors, as well as the SiX Series Encrypted Sensors that were originally built for the Lyric Security System. Support for these encrypted sensors is available for the PROA7PLUS right out of the box. Up to 127 PROSIX and SiX Sensors can be paired with the PROA7PLUS, with no added equipment required. We also want to give special mention to the fact that most existing hardwired sensors can also interface with these zones by using a Honeywell PROSIXC2W Wired to Wireless Converter Module available separately.

Even if you use all 127 of these system zones, the PROA7PLUSC still has some untapped zone potential that requires an additional module be installed. These are legacy wireless sensors that can only be "unlocked" by installing a PROTAKEOVER Module into the system. The PROTAKEOVER is a legacy receiver add-on that allows you to select any one (1) of five (5) possible legacy frequencies so that corresponding legacy wireless sensors can interface with the PROA7PLUSC System. The available legacy frequencies include Honeywell 5800 Series, 2GIG 345 MHz Series, DSC 433 MHz Series, Qolsys & Interlogix/GE 319.5 MHz Sensors, and Bosch Sensors. Since only one (1) of these can be selected, Honeywell and 2GIG legacy sensors cannot be used on the same system.

By adding the PROTAKEOVER Module, you will provide your panel support for up to 123 additional sensors. This will give your panel a total capacity of up to 250 security and environmental monitoring sensors! At one time, life-safety sensors were not considered as compatible with the PROTAKEOVER, but with additional testing, there is now a list of compatible life-safety sensors to go along with the legacy burglary sensors that have always been supported. Of course, those 250 system zones only cover the security, environmental, and life-safety devices you will use with your PROA7PLUSC Alarm Panel. We haven't even begun to discuss the awesome automation capabilities of the system. Inside the PROA7PLUSC is a PROWIFIZW Module, which allows the system to connect with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WIFI and interface with Z-Wave Plus smart automation devices. Focusing on the Z-Wave aspect, the PROWIFIZW is certified Z-Wave Plus by the Z-Wave Alliance.

Using certified Z-Wave Plus devices with the PROWIFIZW will ensure the best possible range, battery life, and performance. And don't worry if you have some older classic Z-Wave devices you want to mix in. Like nearly all Z-Wave Plus controllers and hubs, the PROWIFIZW is backward compatible with older Z-Wave technology. Best of all, if your Resideo PROA7PLUSC System is monitored with a compatible plan, then you will also be able to control your paired Z-Wave automation devices remotely using the Total Connect 2.0 platform on your phone or through a web browser. The Z-Wave limits for the PROA7PLUSC include (78) total Z-Wave devices, split between (60) lighting modules, six (6) garage door controllers, six (6) door locks, and six (6) Z-Wave thermostats.

Speaking of Total Connect 2.0, the PROA7PLUSC can readily interface with the service. No further add-ons are needed. This is thanks to the aforementioned PROWIFIZW device that comes pre-installed inside the panel. In addition to serving as an automation controller, the PROWIFIZW also functions as both a WIFI card and an AlarmNet IP Communicator. You will need to sign up for a monitoring plan to activate the unit, but once you do, your PROA7PLUSC is able to communicate with the Resideo AlarmNet Servers. You can conveniently use the local WIFI in the building to get started, much like you would for any other WIFI-connected device.

Relying solely on internet protocol (IP) service through WIFI connectivity is certainly a viable option, and many users do exactly that. But if you really want to make your system as reliable as possible, then you should strongly consider upgrading to cellular. This is done by adding a compatible cellular communicator inside the system to provide an additional communication path, in case the internet is ever down. The Resideo PROA7PLUSC System has the PROLTE-A (AT&T LTE) and the PROLTE-V (Verizon LTE) available. Just remember that you will need to upgrade to a cellular monitoring plan, which is typically more expensive than an IP-only plan. Examples of compatible cellular monitoring plans you can choose from include the Gold and Platinum Level Plans from Alarm Grid.

There are also several miscellaneous features you can take advantage of and enjoy with the Resideo PROA7PLUSC. The panel boasts a beautiful 7-inch display with convenient and easy-to-use touchscreen controls. Navigating the menus is simple, and straightforward, making this alarm system suitable for beginners and experienced users. The system can be split into four (4) individual partitions for added customization and greater flexibility.

You can even set up optional Bluetooth connectivity with your phone to have the system disarm automatically when you return to the premises after being away. The panel also has a camera on its front for disarm photos, as well as built-in Amazon Alexa functionality for controlling the system with spoken voice commands. Overall, the Resideo PROA7PLUS is a great selection for anyone seeking a modern and practical long-term solution for their alarm monitoring and security needs.

A former limitation of the PROA7PLUSC was that it did not support local end-user programming but as of firmware version 03.591.92.0 it now supports programming the panel locally. Beginning in version 03.1868.32.0, the PROA7PLUSC supports Apple HomeKit integration. Refer to this FAQ for details on how to set it up. Using the panel with Apple HomeKit requires a WIFI connection, and to control the panel remotely, the HomeKit setup must have a hub installed such as an Apple HomePod, iPad, or Apple TV. Note: A plug-in transformer comes included with the system, but you will need to supply your own wiring. To make things easy, you can use a Honeywell LT-Cable for this task. But if you decide to use conventional alarm wire, then please refer to the table below for the maximum wire run limits.

Note: Do not attempt to install any hardware or add-on modules while the ProSeries Panel is powered on.

Note: This listing is for the "commercial" version of the Honeywell Home and Resideo ProSeries 7" All-In-One Panel. This version has "Resideo" displayed on the front of the panel, underneath the touchscreen.
