What Security Systems Support the DSC PG9312 Outdoor Contact?

Most PowerG-compatible security systems will support the DSC PG9312 Outdoor Contact. This is a PowerG Sensor, and its compatibility is fairly standard. However, if you plan to use this sensor with an IQ Panel 2 Plus, then the system must be running Firmware Version 2.4.0 or higher.

As a PowerG Sensor, the DSC PG9312 offers many exciting features. The sensor can communicate from up to 2km away in open air, depending upon the system it is used with. It uses military-grade 128-bit AES encryption in all of its wireless communication. This makes the sensor virtually impossible to hack or takeover. This sensor also features a weather-resistant exterior, which makes it perfect for outdoor use. You can use it reliably on fences, gates, barns, outdoor patio doors, and more.

The DSC PG9312 works quite well with the DSC PowerSeries NEO Systems and the DSC Iotega. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The DSC PowerSeries NEO Panels are hardwired systems, and they do not come with a wireless receiver by default. You will need to make sure that your DSC PowerSeries NEO has an added PowerG Transceiver to support the sensor. The DSC HS2LCDRF9 N NEO Keypad w/ Built-In PowerG Transceiver works great for this purpose.

As for the DSC Iotega, it does not support local programming. As a result, you will need to have your monitoring company help you program the sensor remotely if you want to use it with the Iotega. The DSC PG9312 also works with most versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. But there is a catch. The system needs to be running Firmware Version 2.4.0 or higher. This is because there was a problem with older IQ Panel 2 Plus firmware that made this particular sensor incompatible with the system. Qolsys fixed the issue in Firmware Update 2.4.0.
