Which Thermostats are Compatible with Total Connect 2.0?

Any Honeywell WIFI Thermostat is compatible with the Total Connect 2.0 service. This includes the Lyric Round Thermostat, as well as the Lyric T5 and all of the Total Connect Comfort and RedLink Thermostats. The Honeywell T6 Z-Wave thermostat is also compatible and provides true automation.

Previously, it was only possible to use a Z-Wave Thermostat with the Total Connect 2.0 platform. This was a good option because, in addition to manual control of the thermostat through the TC2 app, scenes and rules could also be created, allowing for true thermostat automation. In April 2016, Honeywell released an update that made it possible to use their WIFI thermostats with Total Connect. As a result, any system that has access to the Total Connect 2.0 service, with the automation feature enabled, is also capable of controlling a Honeywell WIFI Thermostat.

To add a WIFI thermostat to your Total Connect account, start by navigating to the automation section of the Total Connect interface. From there, access the settings for automation devices. You should see an option to add or remove a WIFI thermostat. Select that option. From there, you can link the Total Connect Comfort account or Honeywell Home account (both are separate from your Total Connect 2.0 account) with the Total Connect 2.0 service. This will integrate the WIFI thermostat with the Total Connect Account, allowing you to control both the security system and the thermostat through a single app. Scenes and rules are not supported on the WIFI thermostats, only manual control is available. Honeywell also released a guide to help users integrate their Lyric Round with Total Connect.

Below, navigation via browser is shown. As of January, 2018, Android devices were required to use the browser, rather than the app to set this up. This has now changed with an Android app update as of April, 2018.

As for the Honeywell T6 Z-Wave Thermostat, the device will be displayed on Total Connect after it has been included with the panel and the panel has been synced with Total Connect. To sync the panel, go to the Locations tab within Total Connect, then choose "Sync Panel". Once complete, you will be able to access the T6 Thermostat from Total Connect, assuming that it was programmed with your panel correctly.

Once your thermostat has been connected with Total Connect, you will be able to control it directly from the Total Connect platform. This can be done remotely using the Total Connect Mobile App, which is available for free on iOS and Android devices. You will also be able to create smart scenes which include the T6 Thermostat. For example, you may create a scene that changes the temperature to an energy saving setting once the alarm system has been armed to Away.
