Why Can't I access "Tools" or "Settings" On My PROA7?
The most likely reason you aren't seeing Tools or Settings when accessing the Installer Menu is that a partition on the PROA7 or PROA7PLUS is armed. These panels can support up to four (4) partitions, and if any one of the partitions is armed, the Tools and Settings menus will not be offered.
Resideo markets the PROA7 and PROA7PLUS panels using the Honeywell Home brand. They are identical to the Resideo PROA7C and PROA7PLUSC respectively in every way, with the exception of the brand shown on the front of the panel. You can see a full comparison between the panels here. With regard to the information contained in this FAQ, all four (4) of these panels can be considered identical.
If you are attempting to find the Tools or Settings menu options, and neither is showing, then follow these steps to determine if a partition is armed:
- Check other partitions. If you are at the main panel attempting to gain access to Tools or Settings, then you are automatically viewing the status of Partition 1. To view the status of other partitions, tap the Partition 1 name displayed at the top of your screen and a list of other partitions will drop down. The User Code that you use must have access to these partitions in order for you to view them. Check for any partitions that may be armed. If a partition is armed, and you wish to enter the Tools or Settings menus, you must first disarm all partitions.
-
Access Tools or Settings. Once all partitions are disarmed, you will now be offered the Tools and Settings Menu options. Tap the Menu icon (≡) at the bottom-center of the panel screen. You can also access these menu options from any PROWLTOUCH or PROWLTOUCHC LCD touchscreen keypad. After tapping the hamburger menu button, scroll down and select Tools or Settings. To enter panel programming, be sure to enter the Installer Code when prompted. The default Installer Code is 4112.
Within the Tools Menu, you will find options for System Information, System Tests, Programming, Local Alarm Mode, and BLE Local Programming Mode.
Within the Settings Menu, you will find options for WIFI, User Management, Voice Services (Amazon Alexa), and Secondary Keypad Setup. To access this menu, you will need to enter an Installer, Master, or Partition Master User Code. The default Master Code is 1234.
If there are any other reasons for the Tools or Settings menu options to be absent, we haven't encountered them yet. There is nothing in the panel's documentation to explain any other reason for these options to be absent.
