The Honeywell DT8050A-SN V-Plex Polling Loop Dual Tec Motion Sensor uses both passive infrared (PIR) and microwave technology to detect movement. Using these two detection methods together helps prevent false alarms and ensures that the security system only responds to true motion events.

Since the Honeywell DT8050A-SN is a hardwired V-Plex Polling Loop Sensor, it is only compatible with Honeywell Polling Loop Panels. This includes the panels from the Honeywell VISTA TURBO Series, such as the Honeywell VISTA-128BPT and the Honeywell VISTA-250BPT. You must wire this sensor to the panel's polling loop for connectivity. The polling loop will allow for both data and power to be carried on only two (2) wires. By using V-Plex Sensors with a polling loop, you will be able to achieve longer wire runs than if you used standard wired sensors with regular zone terminals. The sensor can be easily tested using its flashlight walk test feature. Put your alarm system on test mode with the monitoring station before testing the sensor.

Both its PIR sensor and its microwave sensor must be activated in order for the device to alert the system. This helps prevent false alarms due to environmental factors, and it ensure that only true movement activities are reported. The sensor offers a coverage range of up to 53 feet by 72 feet, making it suitable for large commercial and industrial locations. Its recommended mounting height is between 6'9" and 8'9". The optimal range is achieved at a mounting height of 7'6". The sensor uses anti-masking technology to prevent others from disabling the sensor. Another offered feature is PIR white light immunity to ensure that the sensor works in any lighting environment. A built-in look down zone helps the sensor detect movement that occurs directly below. Mirror optics allow for more reliable detection and help prevent false alarms.
