The Honeywell Home PROA7PLUSW0TAKEA is a wired upgrade kit for users wanting to continue using hardwired sensors with a new wireless system. It includes a PROA7PLUS Alarm Panel, a PROSIXC2W Converter Module, a PROLTE-A AT&T LTE Communicator, and two (2) LT-Cables. It is dual-path ready.

Many users upgrading from older wired alarm systems to newer wireless all-in-one systems look for a way to continue using their existing hardwired sensors. Wired to wireless converter modules like the PROSIXC2W make this possible. You connect the wired sensors to the PROSiXC2W, and the unit sends encrypted wireless signals to the alarm panel on their behalf. The PROA7PLUS System will just think that these are compatible wireless sensors, and you will be able to enroll the wired sensors to wireless zones on the system. And if you want to further expand upon the system, then you can easily do so by adding compatible wireless sensors from the Honeywell SiX and PROSIX Lineups as well.

The PROA7PLUS Panel itself offers some great features in its own right. It supports Z-Wave Plus technology for home automation, optional automatic Bluetooth disarming, and four (4) system partitions. You control the system using a crisp and clean alarm panel that boasts a 7-inch touchscreen controller. It really looks great in any home or business, especially when mounted on a wall. The menus for the system are easy to navigate, which is great for users who may be operating their first security system. You can also control the system remotely through the Total Connect 2.0 platform, as long as access to the service is included with your monitoring plan. A former limitation of the PROA7PLUS was that it did not support local end-user programming but as of firmware version 03.591.92.0 it now supports programming at the panel. Another update, 03.1868.32.0, added support for integration with Apple HomeKit.

Thanks to the PROLTE-A AT&T LTE Communicator included with this kit, you can get your PROA7PLUS System connected with a cellular network. And since the system already has a built-in module for WIFI connectivity, you can have two fast and reliable communication paths easily enabled. This is important, as the system will be dependent upon its cellular connection in the event that internet service is down or unavailable. Many people refer to a security system setup that uses both IP and cellular a dual-path. Just remember that you will be required to get a monitoring plan that includes cellular connectivity in order to use a dual-path system. Compatible monitoring plans include the Gold and Platinum Level Plans (Self or Full) from Alarm Grid.

Important Note: The PROA7 and PROA7PLUS systems only support PROSIX and SiX series sensors from the factory. If you plan to use any legacy RF sensors, including Honeywell 5800 Series, 2GIG (non-encrypted) 345 MHz, Qolsys or Interlogix 319.5 MHz, DSC 433 MHz, or Bosch 433 MHz sensors, you will need to add a PROTAKEOVER module to your system.
