Honeywell Home PROINDMV

The Honeywell Home PROINDMV is a PIR motion sensor combined with a video camera that is used with the Honeywell Home PROA7PLUS or the Resideo PROA7PLUSC. The device is best described as an image sensor that produces full-motion video. Captured clips can be sent to the end-user via text and/or email.

On one hand, the PROINDMV is a fully functional motion detection sensor. It uses passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect movement. This means that the sensor will look for the changes in infrared (IR) energy that occur when movement is present. The sensor offers a coverage area of 39.37 feet by 54 feet, with a 90° detection pattern. The recommended mounting height is between 6.5 feet and 7.5 feet high, with 7 feet being ideal for pet immunity of up to 80 lbs. Like any PIR motion sensor, the PROINDMV should not be mounted facing towards any vents, or fans, and for pet immunity, stairwells or furniture that pets can climb upon to get within the sensor's field of view should also be avoided. The sensor uses a Fresnel lens.

But what makes the PROINDMV unique is that it will begin capturing video once the motion sensor is activated. The video capture only occurs while the system is Armed Away. Activating this interior motion sensor while in Away mode will trigger an alarm on the system and will initiate image capture. The captured video will be sent to AlarmNet. From there, AlarmNet will forward the video to Total Connect 2.0 so that it can be passed onto the end-user via text and/or email. This will require a monitoring plan that includes access to TC2. Please note that it is not possible to request a video clip or a live look-in from TC2. The PROINDMV will only capture video once it is triggered while the system is Armed Away.

It is important to note that the video clips captured by the PROINDMV are not HD. The resolution is QVGA (320x240) or VGA (640x480), with a frame rate of 10 FPS. The video file size can be up to 230kb. The image quality is designed to be just good enough to verify an alarm event. It will not offer the same video quality as a Total Connect 2.0 HD Camera. The PROINDMV has an integrated automatic white LED light for enhancing video captured in a dark environment. All video captured with the LED active will be in black & white. The PROINDMV will only capture video in full color when the LED is inactive and there is sufficient lighting.

The PROINDMV uses three (3) lithium 3V CR123A batteries for power. Expected battery life is approximately four (4) years depending upon usage. The sensor can communicate with the PROA7PLUS or PROA7 Panel from more than 300 feet away in an open air environment. All communications between the PROINDMV and the alarm panel are sent using Spread Spectrum, Interactive, AES encryption. There is an LED light on the sensor used for Walk Testing. The sensor offers low-battery detection, and it will alert the panel when the batteries need replacing. The sensor offers RF supervision and tamper detection. The PROINDMV sensor measures 4.92"L x 2.05"W x 1.81"D. The device weighs 5.82 oz. It is for indoor use only.
