Honeywell Home PROLTE-V2

The Honeywell Home PROLTE-V2 Verizon LTE Communicator is a cellular communicator for a PROA7PLUS, PROA7PLUSC, PROA7, or PROA7C. Installing and activating this communicator will allow your ProSeries Alarm Panel to communicate with AlarmNet and Total Connect 2.0 across the Verizon LTE Network.

In order to use a cellular communicator, you must have a compatible cellular monitoring plan. Examples include an Alarm Grid Self or Full Gold or Platinum Level Plan. Cellular communication is often preferred by users, as it is more reliable than IP-only monitoring. With IP-only connectivity, an internet outage can take your system offline and leave your home or business vulnerable. An AC Power outage will usually result in an internet outage. But a strong cellular connection will almost never go down. This can provide added peace of mind and security.

Installing the Honeywell Home PROLTE-V2 is simple. The module goes inside the designated slot on the ProSeries Panel. Make sure to power down the system completely by disconnecting the backup battery and unplugging the transformer before installing the communicator. You may damage the system and/or communicator if you attempt to install the communicator with power still on the system.

It is important to note that the Honeywell Home PROLTE-V2 is an LTE communicator. If you are familiar with LTE, the term stands for "long-term evolution". Verizon has stated repeatedly that they plan to keep their LTE network in service for a very long time, even as their 5G network comes to fruition. In fact, their LTE network will serve as a valuable backup to their 5G network. This means that an LTE communicator like the PROLTE-V2 will future-proof your system and keep it online well into the distant future.

Having the ability to communicate with AlarmNet is what makes monitoring service possible for the ProSeries Panels. When a signal comes into AlarmNet, it is then forwarded to Total Connect 2.0 and/or a central monitoring station, depending on the user's monitoring plan. If your monitoring plan includes access to Total Connect 2.0, then you can access that service using a web browser or a mobile app on your phone. Total Connect 2.0 will allow you to remotely arm and disarm your system, check its status, control smart home devices, view the live feed for security cameras (Platinum plan required), and more.
