Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCH

The Honeywell Home PROWLTOUCH serves as a wireless touchscreen keypad for the PROA7PLUS, PROA7PLUSC, PROA7, and PROA7C. The keypad pairs with a ProSeries Panel across a local WIFI network. A PROWIFIZW or PROWIFI must be installed inside the ProSeries Panel in order for the PROWLTOUCH to be used.

You can pair up to eight (8) external keypads per partition on a ProSeries Alarm System. Both the PROWLTOUCH and the Honeywell Home PROSIXLCDKP Keypad count towards this limit. Since the ProSeries Panels support up to four (4) partitions, this means that it's technically possible to have up to (32) keypads on a single system. Even though the keypad is assigned to a single partition, you can still use the PROWLTOUCH to switch between different partitions on the system.

Many users prefer the PROWLTOUCH Keypad for its easy to navigate menus and touchscreen controls. Also, you can control programmed Z-Wave smart home devices from the PROWLTOUCH Keypad, while the PROSIXLCDKP is only useful for performing security functions. This essentially means that the PROWLTOUCH Keypad can be used in the same way as the primary ProSeries Alarm Panel.

Setting up the PROWLTOUCH Keypad is very easy. It allows for auto-enrollment with the main panel to ensure that the pairing process is as streamlined as possible. The keypad has a backlit display to make it easy to operate in the dark. Brightness adjustments are available. If primary keypad power is interrupted, the backlight will turn off to conserve power. In this case, the display backlight will come back up when the screen is touched, or when an alarm, entry delay, or exit delay occurs. Primary keypad power is supplied via a 5V, 1A power supply with an attached Micro USB cable. There is also a backup battery inside the PROWLTOUCH that will provide approximately four (4) hours of backup power. The keypad volume can be easily adjusted if needed.

As the PROWLTOUCH Keypad is essentially a tablet, many users will just lay it flat, or keep it upright using its built-in mini kickstand. Resideo also offers wall-mounting and desk-mounting options that double as power charging docking stations with the PROWLTOUCHWM and the PROWLTOUCHDM, respectively. You can easily remove the keypad from the wall mount or desk mount docking station to bring it around with you for tasks like enrolling new Z-Wave devices to the system. A status LED light displayed on the PROWLTOUCH Keypad will conveniently let you know the current arming state of the system. The keypad also has an integrated camera for future use, as well as a built-in microphone for voice functionality with Amazon Alexa and other add-ons that support two-way voice. The keypad has language options of English, French, or Spanish. Chime functionality can be toggled ON and OFF.

One very important thing to note about the PROWLTOUCH Keypad is that it can only pair with a PROA7 or PROA7C Alarm System if the panel has a WIFI card installed. This is because the PROWLTOUCH communicates across WIFI, and it has no other way of integrating with a system. The PROA7 and PROA7C Systems do not come with a WIFI card built inside, so you will need to add one if you want to use a PROWLTOUCH Keypad with one of them. You can choose between the Honeywell Home PROWIFIZW and the Honeywell Home PROWIFI for this job. The PROA7PLUS and PROA7PLUSC Alarm Systems already have a PROWIFIZW integrated, so you don't need to worry about upgrading that system to support the PROWLTOUCH.

Note: This keypad says "Honeywell Home" across the front. There is also a different version of this same keypad that instead reads "Resideo" across the front. It is called the Resideo PROWLTOUCHC. You can check it out here. The keypads are completely identical and share the same compatibility. Literally the only difference is the word written across the front.
