Interlogix 60-807-01-95R

The Interlogix 60-807-01-95R is a pet-immune motion sensor designed for use in homes and small businesses. Homeowners with pets weighing up to 40 pounds can use the device confidently in knowing that their pets will not activate the sensor if they follow some basic guidelines. The wireless, battery-powered sensor is easy to install, and it offers very consistent and reliable performance. This makes the Interlogix SAW motion detector a great sensor option for residential environments with pets.

The device functions in a similar manner to most other passive infrared motion sensors. The detector works by scanning an area of up to 35 by 40 feet for infrared energy. This provides the sensor with a baseline reading of the coverage area. If a person or a large object comes into view of the sensor and causes a substantial change in the detected infrared energy the sensor will trip. This will activate the sensor and report a fault to the alarm system. The system will then perform the programmed response for the sensor based on the response type assigned to the zone.

The 60-807-01-95R works best when installed facing diagonally downward at a mounting height of 7.5 feet. It should be installed on a sturdy surface that is free of any vibrations. If possible, the sensor should not be facing any windows, fireplaces, vents or air ducts. The sensor will function best when it is used within 100 feet of the alarm system, though it has been tested to function from up to 500 feet away in open air.

With the device's included mounting plate, installation is made very easy. Screws and wall anchors will hold the mounting plate securely in place. The sensor can then be securely clicked onto the mounting plate. If anyone removes the sensor from its mounting plate, a tamper switch on the device will activate. This will let the system know if anyone tries to physically tamper with the device. Please note that the tamper switch function cannot be used if the sensor is corner-mounted.

Programming the 60-807-01-95R is also quite simple. The sensor operates at a wireless frequency of 319.5 MHz. This makes it compatible with the Interlogix Simon Alarm Systems and any Qolsys panel equipped with a 319.5MHz daughtercard. The device can be learned-in automatically with these alarm panels when in the serial number field in zone programming. Please note that the device is powered by a single AA lithium battery, and it will require replacement every few years.

Keep in mind that the term "pet-immunity" can be misleading. Animals under 40 pounds can trip this sensor if they are traveling up/down stairs or jumping on/off high furniture. These types of behaviors trick the motion in seeing a larger IR signature than the stationary size of the pet. For this reason Alarm Grid recommends installing pet friendly motions in areas where there is no furniture or stairwells in the field of view.
