Description
The Interlogix TX-E611 is a dual-purpose sensor that offers both flood and freeze detection. Each function has its own unique serial number. This allows the sensor to be used both as a flood sensor and as a freeze sensor simultaneously or individually without the other. The small size of the sensor (2.5 inch diameter, 0.37 inch depth) allows it to be conveniently placed near sinks, toilets, sump pumps and hot water tanks. This is great for detecting any possible leaks that may occur in key areas. The device will also work great as a freeze sensor in these critical areas to avoid frozen pipes.
The TX-E611 sensor will activate within two seconds of detecting any water. When this occurs, the sensor will then send an alarm signal to the system to let it know about the leak. This will give the user an opportunity to address the issue before a serious flood or any serious water damage occurs. When used as a freeze sensor, the TX-E611 will activate upon sensing a temperature of less than 41° Fahrenheit. This will give the user the chance to address the issue of a broken HVAC unit before the pipes freeze. The condition on the system will return to normal once the sensor detects a temperature of 45° Fahrenheit or higher. Both the flood and freeze detection functions will need to be programmed with the panel separately, with each wireless zone having its own unique serial number.
We strongly recommend pairing the TX-E611 with the interactive services of Alarm.com. This way, a user can receive text and email alerts whenever the TX-E611 sensor activates. Receiving these alerts can be extremely useful if a water leak or a faulty HVAC unit occurs while the user is away. Local audible alarms from the system can be triggered based upon the zone's response type. If you have central station monitoring remember to clarify with your alarm company whether or not they should simply log alarms or call you. Adding flood and freeze protection to your home alarm system may result in added credits for your homeowner's insurance. Be sure to notify your agent after adding this device to qualify for any available discounts.
The TX-E611 communicates via 319.5 MHz (legacy Interlogix), and it will work with any Interlogix Simon Alarm System and any Qolsys Alarm System with a 319.5MHz daughtercard. All of these systems can sync with Alarm.com, as long as they have an active cellular communicator. The sensor uses a CR2450 battery, and it will require a replacement roughly every 10 years depending upon usage. Ideally, the sensor should be installed within 100 feet of the alarm system for optimal performance. However, it has been tested to work from up to 500 feet away in open air.
