DSC HS2128NK 10-1 Verizon LTE Kit
NEO System W/ Keypad, Verizon LTE Dual-Path Communicator, PowerG Motion, 10 PowerG Contacts, LT-Cable
Description
The DSC NEO-2128-PK10-ENC-VZ is a complete system kit. It includes a DSC HS2128NK PowerSeries NEO Panel w/ 128-Zones, a DSC HS2LCDRF9 N NEO Keypad w/ Integrated PowerG Transceiver, Alarm.com Dual-Path Verizon LTE & IP Communicator, 10 PowerG Contacts, a PowerG Motion, and an LT-Cable.
We recommend using the DSC HS2128NK PowerSeries NEO Panel in larger homes and businesses. The typical homeowner probably won't need 128 zones. But it can certainly be nice to have this many zones available if you do need it. You will want to keep in mind that the system can only support up to eight (8) hardwired zones at first. There are only enough on-board terminals for eight (8) hardwired zones. To use additional wired sensors, you must add one or more DSC HSM2108 Expansion Modules. Each one you add will provide you with eight (8) additional hardwired zones. Just make sure to consider the total zone limit.
You can use more than just hardwired sensors with this kit. We bundled a a DSC HS2LCDRF9 N NEO Keypad, which will allow you to use wireless PowerG Sensors with the system. This is thanks to its built-in PowerG Transceiver. There are many reasons to love PowerG Sensors. They offer a wireless range of up to 2km when used in open air, and they use 128-bit AES encryption in all of their signal transmissions. We have bundled some PowerG Sensors with this kit so you can try them out for yourself. You get ten (10) PG9303 Contacts and one (1) PG9914 Motion Sensor. But remember, PowerG Sensors will still count towards the total 128-zone limit, just like hardwired sensors!
We have packaged an excellent communicator with this kit. You get the DSC TL880LTVZ N Communicator. This is an Alarm.com Dual-Path Communicator that works across Verizon LTE and through IP using a hardwired ethernet connection. Having both cellular and IP is ideal, as signal transmissions will still go through even if one communication path is down. However, you must activate the module for cellular service. This means that you will need a monitoring plan that includes both cellular and access to Alarm.com. If you are shopping for monitoring plans, then you might consider the Gold Plan or the Platinum Plan from Alarm Grid. Once you have activated the communicator, you will be able to control the system through Alarm.com. This is an interactive security and automation platform that you can access through a website or remotely using a mobile app. For automation functionality, the communicator includes a built-in Z-Wave Plus controller. This will let you start building a Z-Wave network that you can control through Alarm.com.
The final component of this kit is the Honeywell LT-Cable. This makes it easy to connect the panel with a comptible power transformer (not included). The only thing missing from this kit is a backup battery. You need a backup battery to keep the system powered on during electrical outages and for stopping any low-battery trouble conditions. The UltraTech 1240 is an option if you do not plan to greatly expand upon the system. But the HS2128NK is a 128-zone system, and if you use it to its full potential, then you will likely need something more powerful. The UltraTech 1270 will usually suffice. But some users will need something even stronger than that. If that is the case, please reach out to us, and we will be happy to help you choose the right option for your system.
Note: No transformer is included with this system. We recommend purchasing the Honeywell 1361-GT Transformer separately, which will work fine with the DSC PowerSeries NEO Security System.
